Canned Heat serves as the introduction to the storyline. In it, Wanderlust and Discoball dance around the Lobby of Danceverses as the other Just Dancers are introduced through floating portals with captions of who is starring in the routines, similar to the title sequence of a sitcom. At the end of the routine, Wanderlust tosses Discoball into the portal that appears to show Sara on the other side. It is then revealed that "Sara" was an illusion conjured by Night Swan, who reveals herself as the "special guest", takes Discoball, and closes the portal. The scene cuts to Night Swan corrupting Discoball with her powers, turning them into Dark Discoball.
