Power Outage

Neighbours

It was now Gerard's first week in the new apartment. He had already organised some stuff and painted some of the walls but it's still not done. He had met with some of the neighbours and they seemed pretty nice ,even though he only met just some of them he felt safe around them and none of seemed like assholes. On the 3rd floor of the building (which he lived on) there were 3 apartments, which meant that Gerard had two next door neighbours.

One of them was Miss Dominiqua, she was a Spanish lady in her late eighties but she was really nice. She welcomed Gerard with some gazpacho, it was a Spanish meal and even though Gerard was kind of a picky eater he loved it. Miss Dominiqua also told Gerard about his other neighbour and most of the people who lived in the building.

~flashbacks~

"Good evening darling, are you the new neighbour, Gerard Way?" Asked the lady. "Oh hello Miss, yes that would be me, I just moved here today." Said Gerard with a sweet smile on his face. "Oh well it's very nice to meet you sweetheart, my name is Miss Dominiqua I'm the next door neighbour." She said as she shook Gerard's hand smiling at him.

"I actually heard you were moving here, well actually most of us knew." She said smiling "So I decided that a fresh bowl of gazpacho would be a nice welcoming gift." Said the Miss handing Gerard a bowl of mentioned food. "Ohh thank you so much you shouldn't had to." Said Gerard as he took the welcoming gift. "Oh come on it's just a little something for you, I hope you will like it here, most of the people are very nice." She said smiling at Gerard.

"Yes I'm so excited I hope I can meet some new people and even find new friends, but I'm also kinda nervous you know." Said Gerard as he scratched his head. "Oh no need to be nervous darling, if you want to I can tell you about the neighbours?" Asked the lady. " You know I probably lived here the longest and I'm planning on spending my last few years here so I know everyone." "Oh of course, I'm curious." Said Gerard. "Well then, come inside I will make you some tea and we can taste that gazpacho as well." Said Miss Dominiqua as she started to walk towards her apartment gesturing Gerard to follow her.

They were sitting in Miss Dominiqua's living room, she had a very nice apartment and a dog named chichi who was very cute. They were sipping tea while the elder one told Gerard all about the drama that's been going on in the apartment for the last 30 years. It was actually quite nice to speak with Miss Dominiqua, you would think she's a boring old lady with a bunch of cats and an old unfashionable apartment. But she was the polar opposite of that, she was actually quite energetic, entertaining and kind, her and Gerard had a great conversation.

"So there's this lady with her kid on the 5th floor, and she's actually an absolute bitch." Said Miss Dominiqua. Oh yea and I forgot to mention, she also a real sass queen. "Her husband left her years ago after he found out she was pregnant. To be honest I feel sorry for that kid, not only was he an accident but his mom is also not the sharpest tool in the shed." Said the Miss after taking a sip of her tea.

"No way, I think I actually saw her flirting with the mail man this morning." Said Gerard. Miss Dominiqua almost chocked on her tea. "What really?" She asked coughing. "I knew it! I saw them like a week ago just talking and they both had 'THAT' grin on their faces, you know the one I'm talking about?" Asked the Miss. "OMG yes! When you just know something is going on with them!" "YES exactly!!" They were talking like they knew each other for years and have been besties since then.

"And then there's Frank Iero" said the Miss looking up from her tea cup to Gerard. "He's such a sweet guy he actually lives on this floor too, we talk a lot." Said miss Dominiqua smiling. "Have you met him yet? Or was he out this night perhaps?" "Oh um, I haven't met him yet I think, what does he look like?" Asked Gerard feeling curious about this Frank guy. "Oh well he's kind of short to be honest." Said the elder one giggling to herself. "He has blond hair that is shaved on the sides and dyed black, he has a lip piercing and a LOT of tattoos." Said the miss eating a little from the gazpacho as she offered some to Gerard.

"Oh, no u haven't met him yet but he seems cool." Said Gerard smiling. "Oh yes I actually think you guys would get along well, since he's probably the only one in his early 20s who lives here ,other than another guy named Bert but he lives on the 7th floor, but he's not socialising much." Said Miss Dominiqua eating another spoon of the gazpacho. "Oh Bert?" Asked Gerard looking up with a shocked face. "Yes, he's name is Bert Mccarcken. Do you know him?" "Yes actually, me and Bert went to the same high school, you could say we were.. well..'close'." Gerard said looking down to his lap, feeling his cheeks turn red.

"Ooh i see." Said the elder one. Gerard looked at the old clock in the apartment and saw that it was kind of late now so he decided it was a good time to go home. "I think I'll get going Miss." Gerard said standing up from the armchair. "Oh yes of course it's getting pretty late, sorry for keeping you so long darling." Said miss Dominiqua. "Oh no don't worry i actually had a very good time Miss." Said Gerard smiling warmly. He really had a good time, Miss Dominiqua was surely a nice neighbour. "Thank you so much for having me and thank you for the tea and this delicious gazpacho." "Oh it's nothing darling, it was a pleasure meeting you and I hope you we can talk again soon." Said the Miss leading Gerard to the door.

"And also sweetheart." The elder one said as Gerard was about to leave. "You can just call me Luisa, it's my real name and I think it's easier to pronounce." Said the Miss who we can now call Luisa. "Oh, yes of course. Good night then Luisa and thanks again." Gerard smiled as he unlocked the door to his own apartment.
"Good night Gerard!"
