He took out a chocolate that he had kept in his pocket, tore the wrapper, broke a piece for himself, and offered the rest to her, the way he had done the first day they met. As her eyes met him, he did not find the indifference that he had found initially. He had expected her to deny it, the way she had done before but she did not. Instead, she slowly forwarded her hand keeping the book aside on her lap, and grabbed the chocolate from his grip.

Their gazes remained locked on each other, and a small smile unknowingly formed on his lips as she graciously accepted the chocolate he offered. The warmth it brought to his heart was unparalleled. As he continued to smile, he noticed the hint of a smile on her lips as well, slowly growing into a full but small shy smile over time. 

As the corners of their lips turned upwards in unison, a sudden and profound understanding dawned upon him. He felt an overwhelming sense of certainty that he was about to become completely and utterly entranced by this remarkable young woman before him. The truth of this realization was undeniable, ineluctable, and simply irresistible- that he was going to fall for her.
