"Hey, aren't you the snow leopard that was brought here with no magic?"

My gaze shifted over to the blue-haired boy. He was the one to launch Ace into the chandelier.

"I can use magic, but yeah. That's me."

Well...this was not what I expected when Crowley said 'Dwarf's Mine'.

Snow White.

"Oh boy..."

"Are we sure this is the right place?"

"Apparently this place used to be flush with magestones. I can't imagine looking at it now."

"Hey, there's a house over there, let's see what the people there have to say."

I looked over at the dwarf's cottage, a chill going down my spine.

"Hellooooo? Is anyone here?"

I realized that they had already made their way to the house and I wearily ambled over to them.

"Bwah! I got a cobweb on my face!"

"Look how tiny these desks and tables are. Did children live here?"

"It's called dwarf's mine for a reason, Ace."

I maneuvered around the webs and rotting wood with a disgusted face.

"Four, five...seven! How many people lived here?"

"This house must have been lively when the mine was flourishing..."

"Whatever the situation, it's obvious we're only going to find a magestone in the mine. Let's go and take a look."

I growled. I had just gotten past the mess and now I had to go back through? I rolled my eyes and jumped out of that place as fast as I could. The cave was darker than Grim's fur, but I was pleasantly surprised when my eyes immediately adjusted and everything turned lighter.

"Grim, can you give us some light?"

"Copy that!"

He took a deep breath in and let out a medium fireball.

"WAH! What is that!?"

"Bwahahahaha!"

"It's been so long since we last had visitors!"

"Come here!"

'No thanks, motherfuckers!'

Absent-mindedly, I reached for my grimoire and tossed it in the air. To my delight, it floated in front of me.

"Y/n, what is that!?"

Ace ran up behind me, panting like a dog. I didn't answer and sped up. Once I was a good distance away, I flipped my grimoire open, it already knew exactly what I wanted. I had used this spell constantly to stop books from falling on me, but I had never used it on such a large scale.

"Scut fantomă."

The ghosts suddenly bounced back and shook their heads, yelling before fleeing to the depths of the cave.

"That the hell was that?"

"That, Ace, was my magic."

My grimoire closed and dropped into my hand and I secured it on my hip again. I looked at the three beside me, they were slack-jawed and I chuckled.

"I told you I could use magic. Now come on, the ghosts are gone. We need to find that magestone."

The group shook their heads and we looked high and low in every nook and cranny of the mine for that magestone, even getting on each other's shoulders. Unfortunately, none of us seemed to be successful until...

"Hey! Over here!"

We all looked over to Grim who was standing proudly in front of a glowing gem. Deuce, who I had just learned the name of, let me off his shoulders and we ran over to Grim.

"That's a magestone if I've ever seen one!"

"Good job, Grim."

I scratched his head and reached out to touch the stone

"...iiivvv......oooouuu..."

I pulled my hand back and looked around.

"Was that your stomach, Grim?"

"That wasn't me!"

"...neeevvvaaa......iiivvv......ooouuu..."

I whipped my head in the direction of the sound, ears perked for any more noise.

"Wah! Where's that comin' from?"

"It's getting closer!"

The cave started to rumble, dust shaking from the ceiling, I narrowly missed a falling rock.

"Stooonesss...Stooonesss aaare miiiiine!"

"GAHH! There it is!"

"What is that thing!?"

"Myahh! No one said there'd be monsters!"

"Y/n, do that spell again!"

"I can't! I could barely repel the ghosts! Run!"

"St...one, won't...give...!!"

'Those clothes...'

My brows furred as we ran. Was it just me or...?

'Is that Grumpy? What happened to him?'

"-elled without it! I'm going!"

"Deuce, wait!"

Deuce attempted to sprint past the thing but was met with a face full of solid black goo that sent him flying backward.

"If you can't do it, I will!"

"Wuuuuuuooooooohhh!!!"

Ace was also thrown against the wall just like Deuce. In Grim's fear, he sent a wave of tire towards it, but the thing seemed unaffected.

"L-l-l-ll-let's get out of here! At this rate, we'll be dead before dawn!"

"Retreat! Retreat!"

"Gggooooohhhh!"

We ran out of the mine and ended up a football field away. Ace and Deuce fell onto the grass while Grim and I panted.

"Do you think we're okay now?"

"What in the queen's name was that!? Crowley never said there's be a monster!"

"We should just give up and go home. I'd rather get expelled than die."

"No! No way! Nu-uh!"

Deuce and I crossed our arms into X's.

"I don't have a home, if I'm expelled, that's it."

They blinked their eyes at me like bugs, ew, wrong simile.

"You live here? Where?"

"Ramshackle."

Ace looked at Deuce and he shrugged.

"Never heard of it. You'll have to invite us over sometime if we ever get out of this mess."

"Will do. Back to the matter at hand, how do we get that stone? It'll take a second to dig out. I don't think we're fast enough."

"Why don't you guys just use your magic?"

"Training is essential to use magic on a larger scale or with different types."

Deuce explained to the confused Grim and then they all turned to look at me.

"I would use my magic, but I don't think that's possible right now. My magic works a little differently from yours."

"How so? Sounds to me like you're just lazy."

"Because my grimoire is in Dutch."

I tossed up the book and its pages flicked around. Everything was in Dutch. But I wasn't sure they even knew what Dutch was.

"What are you talking about? It's just in Old Um. It used to be the most spoken language in the Queendom of Roses."

"Huh?"
