Real quick! Hi! Thank you so much for deciding to give this a try and alsoooooo I made a Spotify playlist to listen to while reading! https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4BUVTmLqa2hUSDzUOvrJvL?si=14a7a421eb7d4afb

The crisp wind pushed golden and orange leaves off the trees causing them to flutter to the ground. It was October, the air smelled of pumpkin and cinnamon. This was Lizzy's favorite time of year. Lizzy was a nineteen-year-old girl who had deep ocean-blue eyes, bushy brown hair, and glasses that complemented her face. She had a light southern accent since she grew up in Texas.

She had only moved to Pennsylvania four years ago. She wore Doc Martens, stockings, a black skirt, and a light pink jacket that had a small red stain on the left sleeve. She claims that she had no idea where it came from, but she wasn't the best liar. She walked on the sidewalk passing fellow pedestrians. She turned up the volume of her music so she was unable to hear the passing traffic.

If you were close enough to her you could hear the music seeping out from the headphones, she hummed along to the song every so often singing along, but quietly so no one would hear her. She was quite good at singing, but no one ever saw her do it because she didn't like to draw unwanted attention to herself. She turned and stopped walking to face a little shop. It was a small coffee shop run by an eighteen-year-old blonde-haired girl with hazel eyes named Oliva, whose family had owned the coffee shop since the 80s. The coffee shop was called The Coffee Cove.

Lizzy placed her headphones on her shoulders and walked inside. When she opened the door the bell that was hanging right above the door rang alerting the employees there was a customer. Fortunately, there wasn't a line that day so Lizzy walked straight up to the counter. She looked around but didn't see anyone. So naturally she wrung the little desk bell.

"I'll be right with you!" Lizzy heard a familiar voice say from the back. Lizzy looks around the room noticing small details she had never noticed before, such as a dent in the wall, and the tiny Lego Batman on the top shelf. Her fingers tapped against the wooden desk. Olivia came out of the back with her hair tied up in a messy bun with her signature brown apron.

"Hey Liz!" Lizzy smiled, "Hey Liv." "The usual?" Olivia asked, "You know me too well." Olivia smiled and turned around to make her drink. She reached up onto a shelf to grab a green clay mug and brought it down to the counter, "So how's life?" Oliva asked her back, facing Lizzy. "It's good, I'm excited for Halloween, my friend is throwing a huge Halloween party at this really old church in the basement." Olivia giggled.

"That sounds fun." Lizzy nodded. "You know I've been meaning to ask you, why don't you ever get anything else?" Olivia asked, pouring the hot liquid into the mug. "Well it is a coffee shop and the only other things here are hot cocoa and tea, I never get tea because if I need it, I'll just make my friend Maeve make it for me. So that just leaves hot chocolate." Olivia nodded, stirring the hot drink. "Yes, I got that part but why don't you get coffee like a normal person?" Olivia asked, opening a small fridge under the table pulling out a can of whipped cream. "It's just too bitter." "Add sugar and creamer."

Lizzy rolled her eyes, "You sound like Maeve. She tried to make me drink coffee once, she insists that a coffee with exactly forty two sugar packets and five creamers creates the 'perfect' sweet drink." Olivia giggled, "I'm guessing you hated it?" "Yup, I spat it back into the cup." She scrunched up her nose, "Gross." "Hey it was my coffee not hers." She nodded. Olivia then pulled out the cocoa powder sprinkling it on top of the whipped cream, creating a smiley face. She turned around and handed it to Lizzy. Lizzy smiled at the face on her drink, "This is new." She said, taking a sip.

Olivia nodded, "Yeah, I want to learn how to draw designs on drinks, and I was hoping I could practice on your drinks?" Lizzy smiled, "I would be honored." Olivia grinned at her reply. "I knew you would." Lizzy reached into her coat pocket the usual $3.45 and set it on the counter. "It's on the house." Olivia said kindly, "No, I can't do that." Lizzy said, pushing the cash towards her friend. "No seriously, I'll make Evan pay for it." Lizzy chuckled, "That's mean." Olivia rolled her eyes, "Oh well." Lizzy chuckled at this, "So how's the drink?" "Perfect as usual." Olivia blushed at the comment, "Glad you like it." Lizzy smiled.

"You should probably get going, your school starts in like ten minutes." Olivia reminded the brunet, "Right, I forgot you do online school." "Yeah, it's so I can run the shop." Olivia chuckled. Lizzy nodded again, "Well I'll be on my way." Lizzy pushed away from the counter. "I'll see ya later alligator" Olivia shouted to her friend who had walked out of the shop
