The girls joined me in the spring, they began discussing what they were going through for training. Yao-Momo was creating objects nonstop while eating, Mina was continuously pouring acid from her palms, Ochaco was rolling down a hill in a hamster ball-(?) to help with her zero gravity sickness, Kyoka was hitting her ear jacks against a rock wall to strengthen them, Tsu was training all of her muscles including her tongue, and Toru was training with Shoji, testing her stealth and his observational skills. While the rest of the girls discussed what was going on with them, Tsu quietly swam over beside me.
"Hey, Y/n. You doing okay, kero?" She asked softly.
"Define okay." I sigh as I sign.
"Ah... that's not good. If you want, during dinner we could all sit together." She suggested.
"... I'd like that." I sign with a nod.
*Timeskip - Dinner*
The girls all join me, Izuku, and Iida at a table while we eat. I glanced over my shoulder at Katsuki, and he was picking at his food. He then glanced up at me and flinched when he noticed I was staring at him. I flinched as well and turned back around.
Annoying...
That's probably what he's calling me in his head... I frown as I stare at my food. I look up at Izuku and notice he's starting at Kota, Mandalay's Nephew. Izuku slowly turns back to his food and we all hurry and eat.
"After you're all finished eating- you'll get a big surprise!!!" Ragdoll beams with Pixie Bob, Mandalay, and Tiger. I glance at Izuku again and he smiles excitedly as he chows down. I chuckle and eat my food quickly before I stand up and go wash my plate. We all meet up beside the forest and wait for further instruction.
"Alright! This is going to be a test of courage! Class 1-A versus Class 1-B" Pixie Bob beams.
"That just sounds like more training." Kirishima groans.
"But hey! At least it's fun!" Denki beams.
"Yeah!" Mina, Sero, and Sato celebrate.
"Not you 4." Aizawa declares. They all freeze. "Your training didn't impress me."
"Ah- sensei, pardon me, but- which 4?" Mina asks, smiling nervously.
"You, Kirishima, Sero, and Sato." Sensei states.
"BUT NOT KAMINARI!?" They all shout.
"Kaminari is improving exponentially. And he's figuring out what he does wrong in combat." Aizawa declares. Denki looks like he's been struck through the heart as he tries not to get super excited over the compliment. "You 4 aren't learning anything. So, you're coming to the extra lessons." Aizawa orders.
"Nooooo" They complain. He simply uses his capture scarf to drag them behind him to their doom. I smile at Denki as he runs up to me.
"I'm improving! You hear that Y/n?!" He smiles as he whispers. I chuckle and nod.
"You all will follow the trail in pairs. At the halfway point you will get name tags that you have to bring back!" Mandalay beamed.
"I'll be at the halfway point!" Ragdoll declared.
"Class 1-B will be doing their best to scare the piss out of 1-A!" Tiger declares with an evil grin.
"Class 1-B! Go and set up in the forest while class 1-A draws to see who they'll be paired with!" Pixie Bob orders as she holds up slips of paper. Class 1-B, minus Monoma, sprints into the forest while class 1-A makes our way to Pixie Bob. We draw one at a time and these are the pairings.
1: Y/n and Shoji
2: Bakugou and Todoroki
3: Jiro and Hagakure
4: Yaoyorozu and Aoyama
5: Uraraka and Asui
6: Ojiro and Mineta
7: Iida and Kouda
8: Kaminari and Tokoyami
9: Midoriya
"Wait- did I count that wrong?" I hear Izuku ask himself as he mumbles. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9- I'm all alone!"
"Ha- lonely ass." I sign, laughing at Izuku.
"That's just what we were assigned!" Ojiro tries to comfort him. "It's not that nobody chose you or anything."
"Oi octopus arms." I hear Katsuki's voice behind me where Shoji is. "Switch partners with me." Katsuki pointed over his shoulder at Todoroki.
"You can't trade partners!" Pixie Bob beamed. I don't know whether I should feel relieved or disappointed. I'm not sure I could face Katsuki right now after what happened earlier.
"Dammit." I hear Katsuki mutter. I glance over my shoulder at Shoji who was watching Katsuki stomp away.
"Now! Team number 1! It's time to go in!" Pixie Bob, Mandalay, and Tiger declared.
I glance at Shoji again and he nods as we approach the entrance to the dark trail. We begin walking in silence.
"... Can I, say something?" Shoji speaks.
"Sure." I sign.
"I want to apologize for the way I've been acting towards you and Bakugou. That wasn't right of me." He apologizes. I give him a confused look, trying to figure out what he did.
... Ohhhh, he means at the sports festival! "That's alright, don't worry about it." I sign then wave it off.
"... Is there any way that we- could be friends?" Shoji asks.
"Sure!" I sign. He sighs in relief and I smile at him. Suddenly a chunk of flesh flies past us and I flinch at the sudden action. I glanced in the direction it went, confused, then I felt someone blow on my ear. I flinched and spun around, no one was there. What the hell?
"What is it?" Shoji asks.
"I don't know- it felt like someone blew on my ear-" Suddenly a mouth with sharp teeth appeared in front of my face.
"What's the matter? Cat got your tongue?~" It smirked. At first, I was spooked, but now I'm unamused. I roll my eyes and start walking, Shoji beside me. "Aww, have you no sense of humor?" I freeze.
... The human body produces 100 watts of electricity on average. Meaning, I can find the source. I think to myself as I look around, searching for the electrical currents. I see them behind a bush off the trail, but they're- separated? I decided to go investigate them.
"Y/n? What are you doing?" Shoji asks me. I hold a finger up to him. I moved the bush and found one of class 1-B's students in multiple pieces. Setsuna Tokage.
