As Lena glanced at her watch, she noticed that Kara was due to turn up any minute to have lunch with her which was the busiest time of the day. She knew that her staff could handle an hour without her so she didn't worry when Kara walked in the door and went straight up to the bar.

"Fancy seeing you here." Lena teased with a smile as she made her way over to her after instructing another bartender to take over. "Hi Kara."

"Well I am supposed to be meeting someone here for lunch." Kara gave Lena a smile back. "Hello Lena."

"Oh really, and who might that be?" Lena asked as she pretended to search around the room for Kara's imaginary friend.

"Well, she's got dark hair, these piercing green eyes and looks a lot like you actually. You haven't seen her come in yet have you?" Kara pulled her lips in to stop herself from laughing and ruining the game they were having.

"Can't say I have." Lena casually shrugged her shoulders. "Are you sure she came in here?"

"Well she told me to meet her here for lunch today but I guess she must have stood me up." Kara sighed dramatically and put a pout on her face.

Lena shook her head. "Such a shame. I guess you'll be leaving then?"

"I guess so. It was nice to see you again Lena." Kara stood and literally made her way to the door and was almost out it, smirking to herself when she heard a sharp intake of breath.

"Kara wait! Come back!" Lena called out from behind her.

Kara stopped and turned around. "Oh you seem busy Lena and I couldn't pull you away from work."

"Nonsense. I was just kidding and I have a free hour." Lena leaned against the bar, twirling a spoon on the bench. "Have lunch with me."

"I really must be getting back to work." Kara turned and carried on walking. "Maybe another time."

Lena pouted herself. "Alright, have fun at work then."

Kara turned around and started laughing at the face Lena made. "I'm sorry. I couldn't hold it in any longer. Of course I'm going to have lunch with you." She walked back inside.

Lena started chuckling. "Take a seat and I'll have my head chef whip us up some lunch." She waved one of the waitresses over. "Rachel can you get Kara seated at one of the private tables please." She waved her arm in the direction of tables situated in the back of the Bistro.

"Certainly Miss Luthor." Rachel smiled at Kara. "Right this way."

Kara got comfortable while she waited for Lena to re-emerge from the back and sit down opposite her. "Thank you for inviting me here." Kara accepted the menu Lena slid across the table.

"Oh you're welcome. Pick anything you want. It's all on the house." Lena said as she waited for Kara to choose what she wanted to eat and drink.

It took Kara a moment to choose because everything on the menu looked so appetizing. She ended up settling on a rib eye steak with a side of salad and a raspberry flavoured soda.

Lena couldn't decide on what she wanted so just got a simple but very tasty grilled chicken toasted sandwich. She called Rachel to their table who got their orders situated.

"So what's it like running a place like this?" Kara took in the busy but cosy atmosphere, her mouth watering at the delicious smells wafting from the kitchen.

"It can get tiring at times but I have really wonderful employees. My best friend, Samantha Arias is my head chef with Eve Teschmacher also a head chef. They alternate the days they work between them. Then you have Rachel who I took in because she needed a job and has a background in waitressing. Sam's daughter Ruby who helps out some days after school as well as Victoria and Ethan." Lena pointed over to them both getting customers seated. Last but not least there is my amazing bartenders I hired because it got a bit much doing it all by myself." She turned to see their food arriving. "What about you Kara. How is journalism going for you?"
