author's note (please read)

okay, this is my first time ever writing a long fic like this, so please bear with me.

i don't have set days for updating so it might be a while before a chapter comes out (i'm doing early decision applications for a million colleges). 

i will be capitalizing everything and using correct grammar (i'm not using grammarly though, just so yk) to the best of my ability so don't be tricked by my writing here.

About the Story

this is a mature fic! there will be explicit chapters involving sexual themes later on so if you are under 18, i really recommend not reading this, unless you want to be scarred. i'll always use a heart (♥) for chapters that include smut or suggestive material.

i write about dark themes that include r*pe (in the past, does not occur to the main characters), arranged marriage, abusive childhoods, daddy issues?, forced starvation, infertility, and so on. this is a mature fic, so proceed with caution.

because this is an "x reader" story, i will be using y/n, which i know can sound stupid but i'll try to use it as little as possible. because toji and reader end up being together in the end, there will be terms of endearment used so if you think that's embarrassing, don't read. 

y/n's thoughts will be italicized as well as toji's when he has his own chapters. 

To Know

i try not to reference the reader's physical description but i did set an age, and the reader's last name is fushiguro, which makes sense because toji obviously takes her last name.

reader is 21 and toji is 23. i only used these ages because i didn't want to make an 18 year old the mc who is married off to a man in his twenties.

this fic is basically toji's backstory, meaning, i'm not writing him as the age he is in the manga. he's the age i hc he met mamaguro at before megumi. 

this is a slow burn, "enemies" to lovers fic (they're not "i'm gonna kill you" enemies, more of the "i hate their attitude/behavior" enemies) so don't expect either of the two characters to be all lovey-dovey right away. i don't plan on writing a story of nobel prize significance but it will be long, and it will take time for the two characters to actually like each other. 

i write in second person for reader, and then third for toji. the chapters will usually be in reader's pov unless the chapter title states otherwise. example: chapter title- toji

this is technically a spoiler but idc. if you can't stand the pregnancy trope, don't read. but i beg you to just give it a chance and understand how well it works into the story's context.

reader is also a virgin so if you don't like that, don't read. but again, it fits into the context of the story. 

i don't own any of the characters besides some of the random oc's i had to give for the story to make sense. all of the original characters belong to gege akutami and the manga jujutsu kaisen, which you guys should go read and support.
