There he was, in the rain. The weather forecast said that there would be a huge thunderstorm going on until tomorrow morning, yet...here he was, smoking a cigarette like it was any normal day. The gray from the cloudy sky fitted him nicely, it wasn't a secret where he was. Everyone could already guess he was here, the administration knew too. It was restricted from smoking on school grounds, someone is going to come and tell him to go away before he gets suspended. Not that he'll care about that anyways, that's his whole 'thing' I assume.

"Jimin! Come on, I think it's raining harder."

"Yeah, I know Tae!"

We rushed past the field and into the front entrance, we were late again. The halls were empty, and the sound of teachers talking about the day's lesson was all you could hear. "Geez, can you believe that it's going to be like this all day?" Taehyung shook his umbrella over the carpet and walked to the office. "Yeah, hope Mrs. G doesn't make us do a lot of work today."

"Late again boys? Give me those school identification numbers so I can write you both off." Mr. Moon is the head of office and attendance, "This is your third tardy of the week, that means detention for the both of you after school."

We groaned as he handed us the yellow slips of paper and headed to class. Before I turned the corner I saw him again, he shook the rain from his jacket and walked to the office.

The day went by slowly, it was filled with continuous schoolwork and silent rooms. The bell rang, and everyone hurried to leave, not wanting to spend any more time either in school or to be caught in the storm that seemed to worsen throughout the day. I gathered my belongings not rushing since I had detention after, "Jimin, you ready?" Tae was standing near the door waiting for me.

"Yeah Tae, let's go."

The detention room was held in the last hall, it was the only class there, isolated from everyone. "Who's in charge of detention?" I ask Taehyung. "Not sure, but I heard that Mr. Kim normally does it. So, it will most likely be him."

The pattering of the rain was echoing in the now-empty school, as we turned the corner we saw Mr. Kim standing next to the classroom door. I think he was waiting for us, "Park Jimin of year two class 2-3 and Kim Taehyung of Year two class 2-4?" He looked at his clipboard, "Yep, that's us!" Taehyung chirped. "Good, welcome to detention then. No phones, sleeping, eating, or socializing, this isn't free time. If you need to work on any schoolwork, please do so. If not, then sit down quietly until the time is over. Understood?"

We nod, "Come inside, sit where you please."

We walked in and settled down, the guy from this morning was here too, he didn't look like any of the year two's in my class or in any that I know of, I think he's a year three. He was writing in a notebook, it didn't look like school work though. "Detention ends at 4, you will be here for an hour, do you each have a ride home?" Mr. Kim asked. "I do." Taehyung raised his hand, "I do too." Said the year three in the back. "Jimin, do you have a ride?"

"Uh no, I don't. It's okay though, I live really close to here." I lied and Taehyung knew, "Okay then, that's good. This rain really is pouring, huh? I don't want any of you to get sick from staying out too long." Mr. Kim sat down and began reading his book. It was quiet again.

"Jimin, you and I both know that you live far from here." Tae whispered next to me, "I know, but I didn't want to worry Mr. Kim. Is there any way for you to take me too?" I knew it was hopeless to plead, "Sorry dude, Seokjin hyung is coming to pick me up and you know his pick-up is very small." I sighed, "Yeah...I know."

"Alright, time's up. Get out of here before it gets worse outside." Taehyung grabbed his things and ran out the classroom, "Bye Jiminie, see you tomorrow! Bye, Mr. Kim!" I took my time getting ready as I didn't have a ride waiting for me. I made my way to the main entrance and saw the rain pouring even harder than when I was in the classroom, if that was even possible, great!

"You need a ride?" It was the Year Three guy, he looked prettier up close. "Hello? Did you hear me?" I feel my cheeks heat up, "Uh, no it's okay. I live clos-"

"No you don't, I heard your conversation with that brunette kid. You guys weren't that quiet. Come on, I wish someone did the same for me when I was younger." He grabbed my hand and we ran to the parking lot, he owned a red old model Ford Mustang. "Get in quick!"

The first thing I noticed when I entered his car was the smell, it was a mix of cigarette smoke and a citrusy orange smell. It was clean, an ashtray was placed in one of the cup holders and a newly opened pack of cigarettes was sitting on the other one, "So, where to Blondie?"
