Chapter 4

Nikki's Pov

I watch as Zayn gets up to bowl and I mentally faceplam, am I that weird? I mean yeah we just meet but i didn't think that someone would act that awkward around me. I feel my phone vibrate and I picked it up to see it was Jamie.

Jamie: Hey babe! Can you tell Alice that I'm not able to make it?? Jack wants to stay in with me tonight!! Thanks!!

I sigh. I am again left alone with the two love doves and 5 people i dont know that well. I reply back and sense that Zayn is back because I hear him let out a sigh. I continue to text a response to Jamie and finish by hitting send and locking my phone. I look over to see Zayn again awkwardly sitting next to me.

"Zayn?"

"Yeah?" he asked almost timidly

I mentally roll my eyes, him being so shy is kinda bothering me. "Whats your favorite tattoo?" i ask trying to lighten the mood.

His eyes seem to lighten up and he looks at his covered arms then he looks up at me.

"Well its not on my arms but on my chest that says my grandfathers name in Arabic for when he had passed away." he says giving me a small smile

"Aw thats sweet. Im sorry for your loss! I remember when my aunt had passed away. It wasnt a good time." I said studying Zayn. He had very bright brown/amber eyes compared to my dull brown ones. His hair was a very deep black that stood tall on his head.

"Stop checking Zayn out its creepy." I heard a thick Irish accent smirk. I whipped my head around to see a blonde haired boy with bright blue eyes, i believe his name was Niall. I blushed slightly and grinned at him.

"I'll try but he is so damn sexy its hard."

"HA! Zayn sexy? Must be blind I mean have you seen this fine piece of Irish ass?" he said making a one handed motion down his body giving me a wide grin

"Why no I haven’t! But thanks for pointing it out!! And might i say that is a fine ass."

He let out a large laugh that made me want to laugh and pointed at me

"I like you!"

I shrugged my shoulders "Who doesn’t?"

I looked over at Alice and saw her give me a quick wink. I winked back and saw it was my turn to roll. I stood up and grabbed a random ball and threw it down the lane knocking down a few pins. I heard a few whoops and I finished my roll with a strike.

I sat back in my seat and got out my phone to check the time. It was around 8:30 and i was starving. I stood up and walked to Alice and took her wallet.

"excuse you!" she screeched trying to grab her wallet back

"I just need money for food! Ill pay you back but I forgot my wallet at home!" I said pulling out a 10 dollar bill. "Ill buy a pretzel and we can split it." I say walking away from her up to the food stand

I bought my food and walked back to Alce sitting on her lap splitting off a piece of the warm pretzel and bit into it automatically feeling its warmth. I smiled and we continued to play a few games of bowling.

It was around 9:30 and I decided I wanted to go home, sadly Alice wasn’t ready to and neither was Robert and they were the ones who dragged me to come and they drove.

"Come on Alice!! I have work tomorrow and Im getting tired!!!" I groaned becoming a annoyed

"Oh just a few more games!!" She pouted

"I cant wait that long!! I have to wake up at 6!! Please Alice?" I asked giving her the puppy dog eyes

"Those dont work on me Nick!!" She laughed

I sighed and sat down defeated.

"I'll drive you." I heard a low tired voice say. I looked over to see Zayn give me a small smile slipping on a light jacket

"Are you sure??" I asked standing up

"Yeah, Louis and Liam can catch a ride with Niall or Harry. I need to head home anyway." 

"Ok." I look back at Alice. She raises an eyebrow probably thinking the same thing as me.

"Dont worry you can trust Zayn he wont rape you." I heard someone say. I looked over to see a curly haired boy smiling at Zayn. I saw a hint of red come across Zayn's cheek as he rolled his eyes. 

"Just go with him!!! If he does anything to you we know where he lives." I heard Niall say

"OK fine." I mumbled still feeling nervous about driving in a car of someone I barley know

I followed Zayn out of the Alley and saw him heading towards a black jeep. He opened the door and looked at me, seeing me standing in the middle of the parking lot.

"Are you getting in?"

"Yeah." I say slowly walking towards the car

"Don’t worry I don’t bite." I heard Zayn snigger using what I had told him earlier. I rolled my eyes and hopped into the passenger side of the car and Zayn followed me in the drivers spot. He turned on the car and pulled out of the parking lot. We sat in silence as Zayn quietly drove out of the parking lot and onto the main road.

"So I need to know where you live, not trying to be creepy or anything but if you want to go home." he said rambling off 

"Oh yeah, you take a right up here." I said pointing off to the side of the road.

He followed my instructions and turned the radio on quietly.

"So how about a game of 20 questions?" he asked eyes still on the road

"Are you serious?" 

"Yeah I think I deserve to know stuff about someone I’m driving home!" He laughed

"Fine, I'll start where did you live before you came to North Carolina?" 

"I used to live in Bradford, England.  How old are you?"

"I am 21." I answer sighing thinking of my next question "How old are you??" 

"You can’t repeat my question!! But if you really want to know I am 23, what is your favorite color?"

"It’s a tie between the colors blue and green."

We had continued our game and I had directed him to my apartment and we arrived safely.

"Well thanks for the ride home." I saw unbuckling my seatbelt and opening the door.

"It was nice meeting you Nikki." He said smiling at me as i entered my lobby

"You too Zayn." I smiled walking into the warm lobby of the apartment

I went to my room and let out a huffed breath. I slipped into my bed without changing and started to fall into a deep sleep thinking of those amber eyes and raven black hair.
