"I just don't get it." She threw her hands up in frustration.
"What's there not to get?" I sat up in the chair folding my arms over my chest.
"You were at avengers tower, you could have changed, A second chance but yet again you refuse to take it." She frowned making her wrinkles deeper.
"I play by my own rules" My face emotionless. She sighed closing her eyes and relaxing slightly as she sat in the neat retirement home bed. Sometimes I wondered why she still loved me, her only granddaughter.
"I do it for them ya know." I said breaking the silence.
"I know you do Tresmae but do you think they would really want this." Her sorrowful voice just above a whisper. The room was silent as I thought in response.
"Nana can we never have a normal conversation. Anymore?" I said diverting my eyes to my shoes.
"Tres, I just don't know anymore."

I buried my hands deep in my pockets as I walked out the retirement home doors and into the hustle and bustle of New York City. I kept my head low as I wandered through the busy streets.

I halted to a stop as I heard a familiar bell ring. I looked up to see the tall brick building towering over me.
My old high school.

I watched from the back as the teacher scribbled something down on the whiteboard. She moved to the side with an amused expression on her face to reveal the word 'Test'
I paused my face falling as my breath hitched. The class moaned till the teacher banged her fist against the table. We all flinched, the room falling silent.
"You better hurry up and get started, wouldn't want anyone to fail would we?" She smirked not bothering to hide her amusement.
"NOW HURRY UP AND GET STARTED!" she screamed across the class. Everyone lurched for there papers and pens willing to get the test over and done with. I wiped my sweaty palms against my skirt and went to pick up my pencil dropping it in a hurry. I touched the pencil watching it spark purple and slowly melt under my touch. I scanned the room to see of anyone else had noticed. I grabbed another pencil watching it slowly frost then turning into a purple ice cube. I felt my eyes widen, I looked down at my purple stone necklace, it shone a light purple.
I-What, How?
Hesitantly I went to grab my pen, as I watched it slowly roll away as I bought my hand closer, soon it rolled off the table making a small clatter as it hit the fall. Curious heads turned as I tried to hide the excitement yet puzzlement expression on my face. I sighed as I rested my hand on my desk wondering what to do. I felt the heat in my hand grow as I lifted my hand to reveal a melted desk top. I excused myself early as I ran out of the class into the deserted hallway.
"Your such a freak!" I looked up, to see a girl coming out of the class making a beeline towards me.
"I saw what you did just before in class, your little magic trick." She stood confidently before me with her hand resting on her hip.
"You thought that was cool back there but it wasn't, it was creepy just like you! I always knew there was something wrong with you." She stood there pleased with herself.
"You just a stupid ass freak." She slammed her finger to my heart. I felt the purple stone burn against my chest.
Don't feed it with anger.
But I couldn't help myself as I grabbed her hand watching her face fall, a scared worried look cloud her eyes. Her arm slowly turned pale growing colder by the second. It turned to light lavender purple as ice grew up her arm. She screamed as I turned and sprinted out the doors and into the streets taking one last look at my old school, knowing I wouldn't be coming back.

I watched students piling out the doors getting lost in the crowd.
I sighed, I never went back to school after that.
I then became homeschooled.
