Log 1
Hello there, My Name is Eric Charles and I am an engine driver of the North Western Railway. Today is April 31, 1984 and this is my first Log. I'm the driver of the North Western Railways number 9, known as Donald. Donald and I along with my coworker Wallace Graham (Donald's Fireman) work well together on the NWR and like Donald I have a twin brother as well. William Charles, my twin brother, is the Driver of the North Western Railway's number 10 known as Douglas, Donald's twin brother along with his coworker Peter Richards (Douglas' fireman). I've had this journal for about a month now and when I first got it, it became a bit of a paper wait but I decided to use it now as there seems to be something happening on the Island.
Log 2
Recently Sir Bertram Topham Hat, the controller of the railway was approached by some scientists who wanted to set up their own Research Facility on the Island. Topham was hesitant at first but he soon came into agreement with them. The scientists requested that they have their research facility built at Knapford Harbor and if they could have a temporary engine for the railway work at their site until they get a permanent engine. Topham agreed and told them that he would look for an engine to temporarily work their site until he found a permanent one for them.
Log 3
When we got back to the sheds at Tidmouth later that night Sir Topham Hat arrived and told everyone what was going to be happening the next few weeks. Topham told us about the scientists and how Knapford Harbor was going to become their Research Facility. The engines were a little annoyed by this as Knapford Harbor was one of the biggest harbors on the Island and it was the main harbor of Knapford as well. Topham then said that some of the railways main harbor operations would still continue at Knapford as he had told the scientists this but most of the Harbor operations would be happening at the Old Harbor and at Brendam Docks on Edward's Branchline. This seemed to slightly relieve the engines but some of them were still annoyed about this decision. Topham also said that Thomas was going to be the temporary engine assigned to working at the Research Facility. Thomas was a bit annoyed about this as he wanted to keep working on his branchline, but he agreed to help. Percy and Toby assured him that they would take care of Annie and Clarabel for him and make sure operations on the branchline ran smoothly and this seemed to help Thomas feel better. Topham told us one more thing and that was that starting tomorrow supplies were going to be sent to Callan Harbor for engines to bring to Knapford for the research facility to be built. After that he left for the night and I along with my brother and the other engine crews began to head home for the night and went to sleep.

Log 4
The next morning me and William woke up and headed towards Tidmouth Sheds to get Donald and Douglas ready for the day's work. When we arrived at Tidmouth I could see the engines were talking about the new operations that were going to take place on the Island. I then walked into the sheds and up to Donald's Cab and I found Wallace inside getting ready to start steaming up Donald. We soon had Donald steamed up and we left the shed to pull our first train of the day, it was a goods train to Killdane. We picked up the goods train from Tidmouth and we are currently waiting for the Guard's whistle to leave so I'll keep this notebook in Donald's cab in case anything else interesting happens.
