•ROSELYN GILMORE never thought she would like small towns. She wasn't big on everyone knowing everyone's business. She grew up with Emily and Richard Gilmore as parents, one of the most beloved couples in Hartford. Mainly because of their money, but that's another conversation.
Even though they were the most beloved parents, they were also the most overbearing parents in the world. Emily and Richard—mostly Emily, felt the need to know everything about their kids lives.
Roselyn always felt like she was suffocating when she was around her parents.
But, as she sat on her front porch, looking out into the streets of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. She had nothing but a small smile on her face. She was waiting for Danielle to arrive back home, but she became distracted by Taylor Doose chasing after teenagers on skateboards.
A couple of giggles left her mouth when Danielle skated around the corner, almost knocking Taylor off his feet.
"Danielle!" Taylor shouted at the girl, his face turning red from how frustrated he was getting. The younger girls laughed loudly, shouting at a half apology at the man who waved her off with a pout.
When the young girl stopped in front of the deck stairs, she hopped off her skateboard with a wide smile directed towards her mother. "What's up, Mom"
Roselyn stood up from her chair, enveloping her daughter into a hug, kissing all over her head. Little laughs came from Danielle as she pulled back "what's with all the affection."
Roselyn's lips abruptly turned from a smile to a thin line, trying to mask her excitement. "Nothing, just in a good mood" she lied, turning around and walking into the house.
Danielle narrowed her eyes at her curiously. Everyday she got off school, her mother was always happy to see her but she felt like there was something more. Laying down the skateboard against the wall, she followed Roselyn inside the house only to see her mother rummaging through the mail on desk beside the door.
"what's going on—woah!" Danielle mumbled with widened eyes as a envelope was shoved in front of her face. She carefully took it from her mothers hand and studied it. It took her approximately seven seconds to figure out what it was.
Her a Chilton letter.
"Holy shit." she glanced at her mother with a wide smile "is this what i think it is?"
Roselyn nodded her head enthusiastically, "i didn't wanna open it until you came home."
Danielle smirked and began to open the envelope, until she was interrupted by a loud ringing noise. Roselyn rolled her eyes, walking over to the phone and picking it up "hello?"
"Rory got into Chilton!" Lorelei's voice screamed on the other end, along with another voice Roselyn assumed was Sookies.
Roselyn smiled at her daughter apologetically, ushering her to open up the letter. "That's great Lor, look can I call you back—"
"I'm so excited, she can finally get into a great school and get the future I never got to have. What about Danielle, did she get in?"
Roselyn rolled her eyes playfully at her sister. "That's what we were in the middle of finding out."
"Well hurry up i'm dying to kno—"
