Chapter 29: Dethroned Empress (1)

Choi Han and Rosalyn came and found Cale and the two dragons looking through the high shelves of the library. Raon flew towards them and told them what they had uncovered so far before he led them towards Cale. 

"Choi Han, Rosalyn, I need you to go towards the lair of the three dragons and set them free. If you encounter anything unusual or someone who wants to take your life, kill them." Cale told them before they left. 

Cale turned around and looked towards Eruhaben and Raon, and this time, they went towards the bed chambers in the palace. 

The place was located on the third floor of the palace and the first few rooms were ordinary and dusty. When they arrived at the last door at the end of the hallway, that they opened made them quite surprised. 

Jewelries were lying on the ground, scattered everywhere, and the place was thrashed around as if the person who searched this place was desperately looking for something... or someone. 

"Raon, search if there is any secret passages inside the room, Eruhaben, can you please check if there's traps inside the room?" Cale asked the two dragons before he wentto the other side of the room and went inside the clothing room. There were rows and rows of different gowns and shoes and corsets around but what caught Cale's attention was the plain looking tiara at the end of the room. 

Cale walked towards the crown and picked it up, and just then, he heard a voice. 

"Ah! Someone finally took the crown! Hello? Can you hear me?"

 Cale flinched and threw the crown on the floor in fright. What in the world? Did he just picked up another cursed item? Why does he keep stumbling towards such items in this life?

Cale calmed himself down and took the crown to his spatial bag. He doesn't want to deal with that the crown and want to find some answers first. 

"Human! We found a secret passage inside the room!" Raon called for him and he went back to the main bedroom and found the two dragons standing in front of the secret entrance that was behind a shelf. Cale approached them and his eyes strayed to the book that was out of place on the shelf. 

"Are you looking at the white book, Human? Granpa and I looked at the contents of that book but its all weird symbols and it make no sense at all, but when we took that book, this passage appeared," Raon explained to Cale. 

"Weird symbols? what do you mean y that?" Cale asked in confusion. Rain took the book and opened the page at the center before letting Cale read the content. 

"I mean, here, look at these weird symbols, Human, even grandpa was not familair with this," Raon said.

Cale was silent, his mind was racing as he read the contents of the pages before him. 

He understood it, and it was not Korean this time. It's Japanese.

Cale cursed inside his mind yet again. It seems that he stumbled upon another landmine he never wished to step into.

On the other hand, Choi Han and Rosalyn were leisurely walking towards one of the dragon's lair, the first dragon, and the dragon that seems to be acting as the leader from the three, Li Zhen.

Rosalyn remembered the dragon who was always by the empress' side and seemed to deeply care for her wellbeing. She might reading too much into his actions however, he seemed to adore the empress too much. Li Lui and Li Qian as well. 

"We are here," Choi Han and almost immediately, they saw the gray seal that was visible entrance of the lair. Rosalyn started to create a maggic circle that could destroy the seal while Choi Han scouted around the area. 

While he was looking around, Choi Han saw a burnt piece of paper that was buried at first row of trees near the dragon's lair. He bent down and picked it up, just in time to avoid the blast from the magic that Rosalyn setted up. 

They both went inside the lair and found Li Zhen's human body all chained up and in a bad shape. Rosalyn and Choi Han were quick to free him and gave him healing potions to recover from his injuries. 

Li Zhen looked at the two humans in front of him before remembering his other two companions. 

"We have to get them as soon as possible. There is no time to waste! Please, save Li Lui and Li Qian immediately," Li Zhen begged the two. 

Rosalyn and Choi Han were surprised from Li Zhen's actions, does this mean, whatever happened to the three dragons who have such scary powers born with that they were beaten up and sealed in their own lairs?

"Choi Han carry me, let's go to the other two, Ah! Li Zhen, Sir Cale and the others were inside the palace. After you get some rest, go there, maybe they need your help," Rosalyn said and they run towards the Northeast area.

Li Zhen sat there in a daze, his mind, he tried to recall the memory after they went back from the west continent but, it was all blank, as if he ended up in a dreamless sleep and found himself being saved by those two humans on Cale Henituse side.

"Li Lui, Li Qian, please be safe," Li Zhen muttered under his breath before he stood up and looked at the direction of the Palace. He needs to see the human, as soon as possible.

Rosalyn and Choi Han were able to set free Li Lui and Li Qian and finally got a clue why the thre dragons were in such a state. 

"There was an old lady, she was wearing a crown that we are not familiar of, however, there was this power inside the crown that was sucking away our life force, all we can do was retreat to our lairs and get sealed." Li Lui said with disdain on his expression. 

"Wait a minute, Li Lui, do you mean the queen on this this place, did something horrible in this place?" Rosalyn  asked him and watched the dragon nodded his head.

"She was speaking a foreign language, something that we dragons couldn't comprehend. Even after the Older Empress died and Empress Helena took over the throne, she was speaking that same language whenever she was always outside the palace.

And then, three days ago, there's a flock of humans dressed in dark robes that suddenly kidnapped every humans in this kingdom, and forcibly sealed us three before running away." Li Lui said frowning.

"Miss Rosalyn, we should gather back to the palace first and tell these to Sir Cale," Choi Han said and they rushed back inside the palace.

When they arrived, they noticed Eruhaben and Raon standing next to Cale who seemed to be... wait... why is Miss Cage here?!

"Rosalyn, Choi Han, do not disturb the ritual... The Human is speaking with the God of Death... again," Eruhaben said sighing in frustration.

They all paused and watched in a distance, wondering why Cale was talking to the God of Death? the last time that this happened... was because of the demons? B-But-

"Damnit!"
