"Where are we running?" asked Soonyoung, breathless.

"Anywhere away from here!" said Seungcheol. "Isn't there an abandoned hotel somewhere nearby?"

"Why can't we go home?" asked Vernon.

"And explain the whole situation to our parents? I don't think so." scoffed Minghao. "Trust me, we're safer this way."

"Besides, if we went home, the killer would target our families." said Joshua.

"But shouldn't we at least be separated?" asked Chan.

"No. If we all stay together, we can't be killed." said Jeonghan.

No one spoke for the next few minutes, until they reached the hotel. Seungcheol ran forward to open the door, but it was locked.

"Damn it." he sighed. "Who can pick locks?"

"Who needs to?" asked Jihoon, kicking the door. It opened swiftly.

"Well, that was simple." said Dokyeom quietly.

"Barricade the door, just in case." said Junhui, pushing a couch in front of the door. Minghao hurried to help him.

"Whatever you do, don't split from the group." said Joshua. "Does anyone want lunch?"

"I'll help." said Dokyeom instantly, hurrying after his boyfriend.

Vernon sighed. "Chan, do you ever feel single?"

"I'm only surrounded by six couples." said Chan sarcastically.

"Lunch is ready!" announced Joshua, an hour later. Everyone gathered around the table as Joshua set a plate of chicken in the middle.

Dokyeom gave everyone a drink (water, of course). "Enjoy!"

"Yeah, I'll be sure to do that. It's not like there's a killer on the loose." said Mingyu sarcastically.

"Do you think someone will come looking for us?" asked Junhui.

"Eventually. Let's not worry about that for now." said Wonwoo. "Shua-hyung, this is delicious."

"Thank you." said Joshua, smiling.

The meal passed in near silence after that. All was going well until...

"Vernon? What's wrong?"

Vernon suddenly started choking on his water. Seungkwan quickly grabbed a napkin with one hand and patted him on the back with the other.

"Vernon-hyung, your face is... very pale, for someone choking." said Chan.

"Wait... guys, I think it's poison!" shouted Jeonghan, standing up quickly and running to the other side of the table where Vernon was.

"Poison?" cried Seungkwan.

Jeonghan nodded. "Crap, what do we do..."

"Seung...kwan..."

And with that, Vernon collapsed, unmoving. Seungkwan screamed and knelt beside him.

"Is he... dead?" asked Soonyoung apprehensively.

"No, he's alive." said Jihoon, rolling his eyes. "Of course he's dead, you idiot!"

"Okay, it can't have been the chicken." said Seungcheol. "We all ate that, and we all felt fine. It has to be the water. Who poured the drinks?"

"It was him!" yelled Seungkwan, standing up and pointing at Dokyeom.

Dokyeom put his hands up and backed into the wall. "No, it wasn't me! Why would I kill Vernon?"

"Who else would?" asked Seungkwan angrily.

"No, I'm being framed!" cried Dokyeom, nearly in tears. "I didn't kill anyone!"

"He would never kill anyone!" added Joshua, grabbing Dokyeom's hand. "Anything could have happened, really. Someone could have came in while Dokyeom was in the bathroom, and I was focused on the chicken. Did you see anyone?"

"Well, the thing is..." said Chan, shifting nervously.

"We separated." finished Mingyu.

"Why would you do that?!" yelled Joshua, more distressed than he'd ever been.

"I told them not to." added Jeonghan. "But they didn't listen."

"Everyone calm down!" said Wonwoo, surprising everyone with his raised voice. "We can't trust each other anymore. See what happened? We trusted each other, and we split. We can't do that now. In my opinion, it would be best to stay in small groups of two or three. That way, if the killer kills their roommate, it'll be way too obvious. We have to think of this from the killer's point of view, guys."

"Thank goodness he's smart." said Mingyu. "I don't want to stay in this big group any longer, can we split now?"

"Isn't it safe to stay like this?" asked Soonyoung.

"The killer found a way around that." said Seungcheol. "Let's just separate now. Chan, you can stay with Seungkwan."

Little did they know, in the middle of the group, the killer chuckled to himself. They think they're so smart. How cute.
