Chapter 47

He hugged me tighter and wrapped his arms around me. Our skin was touching under the comforter, that's our only cover up here in bed. I let him do what he wanted, my eyes drifting on my glass wall of his room. The sun is now rising.

He shoved his face on my neck. And his legs were tangled into mine. "Tell me what happened when I was gone." he said in his bed voice, we haven't slept even a blink but my senses are now stronger than ever.

I clicked my tongue before talking. "I worked, I focused on working."

He breathed against my skin. "Besides that... What happened when you were kidnapped?" his voice weakened like he was scared and doesn't want to talk about it, but he wants to know the truth.

"M-My car was following me when I left the hospital the day I canceled our engagement. Everything h-happened so fast, someone bumped my car and I h-hit my head. The next thing I woke up in an abandoned building." I explained.

I heard him hitch his breath as he listened. "Good thing that guy is dead. I would've killed him if he was still breathing right now." he darkly muttered.

Another idea hit me when he mentioned the kidnapper, I tried to face him by laying on my stomach. His brows furrowed at me.

"Speaking of... that guy who abducted me..." panimula ko, kumunot ang noo niya.

"What about him?"

"There's just this weird feeling. I was with him for a week but he never hurt me." saad ko, naguguluhan niya rin akong tinignan.

His hug on my waist became tighter, the look on his face became stronger.

"What do you mean? He threatened your life."

"Yeah but he got killed before he could even kill me?" I said back. "Look, if they are following me for years then they planned this thoroughly. You think he will just let himself be killed after he abducted me and risk everything? There must be another reason why he did that!"

"He was just stupid, planning to kidnap you in the first place. He should've known, he will not step outside that forest breathing." mariin at matigas niyang sabi.

Napa tingin ako sa kawalan, baka kinakain lang ng galit ngayon si Caden pero alam kong naiintindihan niya ako sinasabi ko. Alam kong may ideya na rin sila, hindi ko nga lang alam kung hanggang saan na ang nalalaman nila.

Bumuntong hininga ako at umayos na ulit ng higa, nanahimik na ako at hindi ko na ulit binanggit iyon dahil baka mag-away lang kami.

"What about what I saw at New York? Care to explain." pag-iiba ko ng usapan matapos kaming matahimik ng ilang segundo.

"What about New York? The launching event?" pagtataka niya na parang wala siyang ideya kung ano ang iniyakan ko roon.

"The video." paglilinaw ko.

Hindi ito sumagot agad, niyakap lang ako nito muli na parang bata.

"Ah, the introduction." sagot niya, tumango ako at tumaas ang kilay ko. Bakit hindi niya matuloy?

"Naging kayo ni Thione?" pang didiresta ko, may karapatan na siguro akong magtanong ngayon na asawa niya ako.

Mabilis itong kumalas sa yakap at napa balikwas. He looked at me as if I said something ridiculous. "What?! No! No way!" he exclaimed, parang diring-diri pa siya sa sinabi ko.

"What's with your reaction?" medyo tumaas na rin ang boses ko.

"Why do you always pair me with Thione? She's a friend! Making her my girlfriend never crossed my mind! No way!" maktol niya pa at umiling-iling.
