Sitting on the rooftop with Satoru, you both gazed up at the beautiful starry sky. The night was peaceful, and the only sounds were the faint chirping of the crickets and the occasional hoot of an owl.
As you lay on the blanket that Satoru had laid out, he turned to you with a question on his mind.
"Do you think we're soulmates in every universe?" he asked, his eyes fixed on the stars that are residing in your eyes.
Without hesitation, you replied, "I do," and he drew you closer, wrapping his arms around your waist.
Curious as to what prompted his question, you asked, "What made you ask that?"
Satoru looked at you, his eyes reflecting the starlight. "I'm just wondering whether there's another life or not," he replied.
You smiled softly, running your fingers through his hair. "Well, the existence of another life hasn't been proven, so we're not sure about that. But I do wish something like that exists..."
"Me too," he said, intertwining your hand with his.
You both stayed to watch the stars. They were especially beautiful tonight, and you couldn't help but think how nice it would be if Geto were there with you. Maybe Shoko too.
Sighing at your thoughts, Satoru perked up, "What's the matter, sweetheart?"
"What if we are born in another world, in another body, with a different face?" you asked, looking at Satoru. "Would you still be able to find and recognize me?"
With a look of determination, he replied, "I would. Because no matter where you are, I won't ever stop searching for you. I'll keep looking for you in this life or the next."
