"Students and Faculty of Yuuei Academy, we will be recieving a new student all the way from America today! I trust you will ALL show her how warm and welcoming we can be." Principal Nezu stated over the intercom before the bell rang to show the start of class. I tried my best not to roll my eyes, but the urge was strong. We had been at school for a week already so it gave us time to get settled and learn everyone's name and the layout of the school of course. 'At least she had the decency to not show up later in the year.' I thought to myself. I was NOT mentally prepared for a new student. I was beyond exhausted since I hadn't been sleeping the best. They call it Somnophobia or some shit like that, it's really nothing too exciting, I really only get night terrors so its hard for me to sleep. But anyways, back to the story. Honestly, I just thought there was no point to make a full on announcement about a new student that 1B would probably never really meet. She would most likely be put in 1A so there's no point in letting everyone know. I am in 1B, they say we are trining to be pro heroes, but in my opinion we are just the sidekicks or hero support, if you prefer. This new girl would probably have an amazing quirk and be with the other class that would have a better chance at becoming heroes, so the chances of meeting her would be slim to none. Because of all these variables, I was not worried about trying to give her a warm welcome, after all, I wasn't here to make friends. I only had one goal in mind and that was to get placed in A class and become a true hero. My quirk is Mind Control, and despite it being considered a villainous quirk, I was determined to show the world that I could use my quirk to help people instead of cause harm. I was completely focused on becoming a great hero, and that was my ONLY goal.

Breakfast was over and we were all leaving the cafeteria to go to class, I just happened to be in front of TetsuTetsu and Monoma as we were going to class. I had noticed a slight bit of movement up ahead and was surprised, to say the least, to see this tiny ravenette girl leaning up against the wall right by our door. She had shoulder length straight black hair, a black and gray plaid skirt on with fishnets tights underneath, Yuuei school uniform knee high socks that disappeared into black platform combat boots. As we got closer, I was able to see that the shirt she was wearing was a long sleeved fishnet top that hooked around her thumbs and had a black out panel covering from her chest down to just above her navel where a black bat charm hung from her belly button piercing that stuck out between the holes in the fishnet. "Yo! Damn bro, who's the new goth hottie? She looks ike she could be your type, Shinsou! Think I stand a chance?" TetsuTetsu said with a wiggle of his eyebrows. I rolled my eyes but in the proces I noticed her straighten up and look at our homeroom teacher, Vlad King with no fear but maybe a hint of intimidation. "Ah! You must be the new transfer student Principal Nezu mentioned earlier. Welcome to Yuuei Academy." I have never seen nor heard thirls level of excitement from our teacher, or any teacher except maybe All Might.

When class began, she walked in behind everyone and I heard Monoma reply to Tetsu, "She would eat you alive only to spit you bacvk out and step on you repeatedly. Don't even try it." I coudn't help but crack a small smile at that. 'Of course, she's a badass. It would be best to just leave her be.' I thought to myself. Suddenly I heard the clearing of a throat and everyone's attention was on the goth girl as she stood up in front of everyone. "Um, hi everyone. I am Raven Madison but my friends usually just call me Rave or Mads. I am from New Orleans, Louisianna. In case you cannot tell, I am Japanese American. Um, my quirk is Mind Reading and Dream Walking, but I am not quite sure how the dream walking portion works yet." The sound of her voice was intoxicating and soft yet it had a slight grittiness to it that soundeed like she had just sang her heart out at a concert last night and her voice was trying to leave her. Another interesting thing was she had a New Orleans accent that just added to her mystery and intrigue. I was so compelled with here voice, I almost completely missed her saying what her quirk was. 'Another mental quirk? This girl just piqued my interest! I wonder what other mysteries I can uncover about her.' My mind was beginning to betray me with thoughts of what else she could be hiding behind that badass exterior. 'Mind reading huh? That's admittedly cooler than my own.' My attention was immediately brought back to reality when I suddenly heard the whispered reactions of our classmates that were simiar to the ones I had recieved when my quirk first presented itself. I saw the look of confidence she had originally had drain away from her face and eyes as she looked down slightly and clenched her fist. " Heh, do not worry, I will not use my mind reading on you unless we are training and sparring against one another." She had a dejected smile that didn't reach her stunning eyes. I felt for her, because I could relate to what she was feeling.

As I watched her, I saw her eyes fall on me and the tiniest smile tugged at her black painted lips. She still wasn't looking directly at me but the way she was looking down and how her shoulder blade length silky black hair fell around her face made my heart skip a beat. Her pale blue, almost white, eyes truly strruck a chord in me as I got the smallest glimpse of them through her long black eyelashes. Her eyes were by far the most unique shade I had ever seen and they were more vibrant when paired with her black eye make-up. Anyone who knew the feeling could tell she was self conscious about something or another, what I did not know was why she was self-conscious. It was at that moment that I had become aware of just how attractive she was, as far as looks went. Then again, I had always had a thing for the alternative girls like goths and emos. Something about the alterntive rebellious style always made a better impact than that of the normal everyday girls. Hey, I may be focused on my studies and becoming a hero but I was still just a teenage boy.

I was so lost in thought that I nearly didn't notice when onee of Raven's pins came off her bag and laanded by my feet. I picked it up to look at it an noticed it was a Gengar pin, then I looked for her so I could return it to her. There she was, in the very back of the classroom. I stood up and made my way to her seat. However, when I got closer, I saw Shihai and Monoma surrounding her and making her just look like she was uncomfortable. I originally wasn't going to bother her, but the way she started shrinking down in her seat as they got closer to her making her look like she was being trapped, I had to stop myself from being protective of her. "Ahem. Raven, I believe you dropped this? It appears it may have fallen off of your bag. May I?" That's when I saw it, the reason she was so self-conscious. She smiled at me and quickly covered her mouth but not before I could see extended canines that resembled fangs more than normal teeth. "Yes, thank you, you may." She looked over at the other guys as she went to reach for her bag and waited for them to move a little so she could grab it, then she handed it to me. The sight of her fangs were surprising but in my opinion, they just added to her attractiveness. As I politely took her bag, I glared at the other guys who began to walk away finally. I smiled to myself in victory and looked for the place where the pin had fallen from then put it back in its place. I saw just how many pins and patches she had on her bag and couldn't help but show her how some of the bands, animes and comic book characters made me smile as I recognized them. "You certainly have a lot of pins on here, that's quite impressive. How do you find room for all of them?" She smiled softly at me and blushed as I put the pin back in its rightful spot. "Well, I have a few bags and I even have a black denim jacket that I put them on whenever I get a new one and run out of room for the old ones. Each one holds a special memory of the day that I got it so they all have some sort of sentimental value to me." As I was about to ask her more about them, the second bell rang and I had to go back tgo my own seat, unfortunately. I handed her bag back to her and reluctantly made my way to my own seat so neither of us would get in trouble.
