Izuku's POV
The room is noisy, nervous energy charging the air. Bursts of chatter filling the anxious silence. It's the day of the UA Sports Festival. Although it's only been about a month and a half since we entered UA, we have to participate in one of Japan's most prominent events. Seriously, this is stupid. Making students fight each other for entertainment and scouting— this whole thing is soo messed up. The whole class is crowded in a prep room, waiting for the Sports Festival to start.

A boy with dual-coloured hair approaches. Todoroki, my mind provides.

"Midoriya. I am stronger than you, more capable. I will beat you."

The room quiets down, with hushed whispers about "A declaration of war from the strongest in class".

"Todoroki, I don't know why you felt the need to tell me this. Don't view me as weak just because of my lack of Quirk. If anything, you better use your full power. Seems unfair when you're so ungrateful to your two Quirks when I have none. And no, I will beat you." The class is silent as the two of us stare each other down. But then, we're given the cue for the sports festival to start, so we break up and start walking.

-Timeskip brought to you by a purple-haired insomniac drinking coffee-

Izuku's POV
The whole first-year bunch is gathered together in the square, for the cameras and audience to see. I seriously regret not having my headphones on. The sound is giving me a serious migraine.

So apparently we're doing an obstacle course, as announced by UA. I have my dadzawa sh*t-eating grin on.

As soon as it starts, everyone swarms through the gate, some getting trampled and most getting stuck. Todoroki makes matters worse by freezing the ground, immobilising the students. Those who weren't frozen had a severe terrain disadvantage. Not me, though! I climbed on top of the gate, swung over the crowd, and sprinted on the ice. I run around on frozen rooftops every winter, so this is easy.

I see Todoroki right in front of me, presumably looking back to see how many competitors are left. I hold back, senses already detecting our first obstacle: the zero-pointers from the entrance exam.

Seriously, Nezu, if anyone gets crushed by these, people will sue the school!

Aizawa's POV
Zashi somehow managed to drag me into the commentator's box. *sigh* At least I can see my problem children clearly. I see Izuku nimbly scaling a zero-pointer, bashing a specific part of its head, and ripping out a metal plate. He then proceeds to grin like a maniac and not even a minute later, the zero-pointer turns around. Why does this not surprise me anymore?

I need more coffee for my problem child's antics.

"AND IZUKU MIDORIYA IS IN THE LEAD! HE'S CONTROLLING A ZERO-POINTER! BUT THAT WON'T HELP HIM MUCH IN THE NEXT STAGE, BECAUSE THE NEXT OBSTACLE IS... THE FALL!!!" Zashi, I love you, but stop breaking my eardrums.

I see Problem Child backflipping off the huge robot, seemingly about to fall right into the pit. I hear the crowd gasp, and at the last second, he grabs the wire, swings, and lands on a platform, laughing.

I swear, this problem child will be the death of me.

Izuku's POV
I'm exhilarated from the aerobatics show I just put on. It wasn't necessary, but it sure was fun. I start parkouring on the wires and platforms, knowing that probably nobody is catching up. I hear Present Mic screaming in the background. God, I need my headphones.

The next obstacle is a minefield. Just great. Totally awesome. My brain starts kicking in, analysing the large field in front of me. I jump on the mines in order, using them to propel me forward. Taking advantage of the fact that these mines can't really hurt anyone. I hear the other contestants just starting the minefield. Wind rushing through my hair as the propulsions from the mines blast me forward as I hop on them. The chain reaction of mines letting me to the end of the minefield, as I sprint to the end, to the open field with the audience around me.

"IN FIRST PLACE, IZUKU MIDORIYA!!"

Hey readers! I'm sorry if this chapter seemed weird, I'm not too good at rewriting canon events from the manga. I wanted to skip the Sports Festival entirely at first, but then decided against it because the obstacle course and the tournament are fun. I have no idea how in the world I'm going to write the cavalry battle though. I'll try my best!
