Chapter 10 The Heart

Luke walked in without knocking. We were greeted by smiling faces and people having a good time. The occasional couple making out, here and there. Girls and guys flirting, a little dancing. There wasnt any alcohol present but HOW? Usually teens did that type of stuff.

So. Curious me, I asked.

"Wheres the alcohol and stuff?" I whispered to Luke.

His eyes became wide and he started laughing at me.

"As weird as it may seem, all of us are smarter than that. Most of the guys here play sports and want to keep a clean record for college. The girls just play along," he whispered back.

Soon, he was bromanced-ly greeted and I was left alone.

"Hey, you go to Sienne Heights High School, right?" A tall, blonde guy came up to me.

"No, I go to the Performing Arts Academy," I tried to seem as uninteresting as possible.

"Oh. I was hoping to see you around," he looked at me weirdly and we stood there awkwardly. Yeah. Uhm. Weirdo, YOU CAN LEAVE !!

He smiled and left.

Oh I wish I can always mentally shoo things away and they'd listen.

"Sorry I left you alone. I saw Kenny walk up to you. Yeah, dont get close to him. He only would want one thing," Luke came back.

"I figured. Plus, I acted as boring as possible for those 3 seconds and I think it worked," I joked.

He led me to meet his friends, some winking at Luke as if they were trying to say he got a good one. We migrated to the next room where they put a scary movie on. This is one of those times where it wouldnt bother me!

It was some murder movie. I sat next to Luke as I was on the edge of the couch, and he sat next to some other girl. They closed the door to get the room as dark and scary as possible. Which still didnt bother me... Yet.

As we were watching, I couldnt help but notice Luke fall asleep. Fall asleep! DURING A MOVIE LIKE THIS! I was wide awake. I felt the weight of his body on me. Eh. Whatever. A part of me wished it was James... Ugh. Why.

Just then, the door opened and the lights went on, making everyones eyes hurt. We all groaned and looked back at the door way. It was a skinny blonde chick who looked mad. Uh oh, someones about to get in trouble.

"Excuse me, but uhm. Thats my boyfriend," she pointed at Luke. I immediately became aware of what was happening and I shook him awake.

"No I dont want her," he got up so suddenly. Everyone chuckled and the blonde girl became embarrassed.

"Honey, can I talk to you outside?" Lukes infamous girlfriend asked ever-so-sweetly. The whole room acted as if they were watching a soap opera, and they all "Oooo-ed."

The couple left and I was left alone as the movie kept playing. I started to feel uncomfortable since I didnt know anyone, and this was a scary movie. Yes. I am a huge scaredy cat in these situations.

I got up and quietly got out of the room, trying to let in as little light as possible; I didnt want anyone mad at me now. Thatd be more of a disaster. I wanted to search for Luke, but I know that he was busy. I went to the kitchen to find a snack and low and behold! There they were. Talking. Yes. Brownie points for me. I tried to eavesdrop, but I couldnt hear anything. So, I figured Id just wait. And wait. And wait.

I peered in once more, to see that she was crying. He couldnt have possibly broken up with her right now could she ?
