Rain comes back down from his room after getting changed, dressed in an oversized cotton shirt and checkered pajamas.
The sight he sees when he arrives at the dining area is Phayu helping his mother set the table to which the woman remarks, "It's so nice to have a man in the house."
"What are you saying?" Rain mutters. "I'm a man too, ma."
She laughs cheekily at this and rephrases, "I meant it's nice to have guests over every now and then, especially a reliable young gentleman like Phayu."
"Tch!" Rain scoffs. He knows that's not what she meant.
Being a single mother and Rain being her only child, his mom had a tendency to baby him which Rain blames for him not being "a reliable young gentleman". And now, she's making him look bad in front of Phayu of all people! If she only knew that he's the school's resident delinquent.
Rain has to keep himself from glaring at Phayu as he sat next to him and they *say grace. Then they proceed to eat which makes him even more agitated for no good reason besides the fact he doesn't really like steak all that much; he doesn't have the patience to cut it properly.
And just as he's sawing through the rather pricey meat, he's taken aback when Phayu takes his plate. Rain is almost ready to fight him but then, Phayu exchanges his plate with Rain's on which the steak has already been cut—quite nicely at that.
Rain knows he's doing this to get brownie points with his mom but still, it's kind of...thoughtful? No, Rain, don't fall for it. He inwardly scolds himself and just gets on with dinner; the sooner they finish, the sooner Phayu can leave.
Or so he thought.

Rain is giving his mom a protesting look but she's ignoring him purposefully as she speaks, "Why don't you sleep over, Phayu? It's raining quite hard; I'm worried you'll get into an accident riding a bike in this weather."
Rain glances out the window and surely enough, it's pouring. Why the heck did it have to rain now?
It's then that he hears Phayu reply, "Only if it's okay with Rain."
The boy in question whips his head towards Phayu, eyes wide and thinking, "Why're you putting this on me?" Now, if he says no, he's going to be the villain. And Rain almost wants to laugh at Phayu's genius.
He turns to his mom who is giving him an 'I did not raise you to be this rude' look and Rain finally concedes, muttering, "Fine."
Since there aren't any guest rooms in their house, Rain has no choice but to let Phayu sleep in his room. But he already made up his mind that he would be staying up at his desk and would tell Phayu that he has a ton of homework due because there is no way he'll be able to sleep with Phayu next to him.
He doesn't even want to imagine the next day when they wake up to find they both have morning wood. That would just be so embarrassing, especially since they're not even real lovers. He doesn't actually like Phayu and Phayu isn't attracted to him, at least it's mutual.
As Rain sits on his bed, waiting for Phayu to come out of the shower, he thinks to himself that perhaps this is for the best. They can finally pick up where they left off—breaking up.
When Phayu comes padding into the room, wearing one of Rain's tank tops that fits way too snuggly onto Phayu's much larger build, Rain almost gawks at his muscles but he quickly shakes it off and regains his focus.
"Ah, P'Phayu." He starts to get up as he says. "You can take the bed, I'll just-"
But then, Phayu pushes Rain back down onto the bed and climbs on top of him, causing Rain to lean backwards until his shoulders are touching the mattress. Then Phayu brings his face closer to Rain's as if to kiss him at which point the boy panically questions, "P-P'Phayu, what are you doing?"
