Bioluminescence - Draco Malfoy

~Y/n's pov~

The minute I stepped into the courtyard, I felt better. The air was fresh, and after days of rain, the sky was blue. Students were milling about, enjoying their afternoon. 

I was debating using my free period to catch up on homework, but I decided against it. I had pretty much been inside all week. I needed a break. 

I spotted my friends- Luna and Ginny, sitting under one of the oaks in the yard. 

 "Afternoon!" I called, smiling and heading over. 

Luna looked up, waving cheerily. Ginny stuck her tongue out at me. 

I rolled my eyes, flopping down on the grass. 

 "Are you guys going to do the extra credit assignment for Herbology?" Luna asked, digging through her bag. 

 "I wasn't planning on it," Ginny yawned. "Whatcha looking for?"

 "My goggles."

Ginny looked up at me, brows furrowed. I shrugged. 

 "I didn't hear about any extra cred. What does Sprout want us to do?" I asked, helping Luna by holding her bag open. 

 "Ah! Thanks, Y/n!" She said, producing a pair of very worn steampunk googles. She slid them over her head, and began to look around, searching the air for something. 

I cleared my throat. 

 "Oh, yes! It's nothing too difficult... she just wants us to spend some time on the grounds this evening. Apparently, at this time of the year, there's a lot of bioluminescence in the air!" (idk if this is true or not, plz just go with it)

I leaned back, gazing up at the sky. Could be fun... I thought to myself. 

Draco's pov:

Crabbe, Goyle and I were headed for the Hogwarts courtyard. Transfiguration was kicking my ass, and honestly, I was feeling pretty pissed. 

 "Sorry! Excuse me!"

A sweet h/c head brushed past us and dashed out onto the courtyard, trailing behind her a scent of f/s perfume. (f/s = favorite scent)

I sighed, rolling my eyes. Whatever I did, that scent clung to my memory, following me around, like a ghost. 

 "Oi, Malfoy," Crabbe elbowed me, smirking. "Stop droolin'. You're gonna get in trouble."

I laughed. "I'm not drooling, mate. If anyone is, it's Goyle."

 "Yeah, cause I'm so fucking hungry! Man, why didn't I get more for lunch?"

Y/n's pov:

I heard loud, deep laughter, and it immediately caught my attention. Ginny was telling us about her date with Harry last night, but I looked over my shoulder. 

Draco Malfoy, and his two friends, Crabbe and Goyle, had entered the courtyard. They were laughing boisterously- Malfoy normally seemed so angry, but at the moment, he looked sweet. The sun was breaking through the clouds, and spreading its light across the courtyard. It lit up his blonde hair. 

 "Y/n."

 "Yeah."

 "Y/n! Earth to Y/n?" Ginny snapped her fingers in my face, bringing me back to the present moment. 

 "Sorry. Here."

~time skip to later that evening~

 "I'm actually kind of excited!" I said, winding my arm with Luna's.
