Luka had never seen Marinette look at him like that, her blue eyes boaring right into his, her gaze always seemed so distant, but now it was like she could actually see him, yet, she was asking for Adrien, who had been the one to put her in the hospital. Luka didn't want to tell her he was in the waiting room, but he had to, Adrien and Marinette were meant to be together, soulmates designed specifically for each other. He hated to admit that he was jealous, he knew just how lucky Adrien was that Marinette was his soulmate, but turning from his thoughts back to Marinette, she was suddenly gone, not in the hospital bed and the alarms connected to the IV and all the equipment that was on her was dangling, she was always like this after waking up from a fainting spell, delirious, in a world of her own, and the one person she always called out for was Adrien, but this time, he knew who she was after, and the blonde was right outside the room, waiting for her.
Marinette had gotten up when Luka didn't give her a response, ripping out her IV and taking the Bp cuff off her arm, grabbing a bandaid and placing it over her IV wound, rushing out of the room, she knew Luka was definitely not paying attention to her when he didn't stop her. Going out of the room in her so called delirium her eyes landed on the familiar blonde, and the two brunette's sitting next to him, her eyes lit up, a look that only those 3 would recognize, their Marinette. "Marinette!" Alya rushed up to Marinette and hugged her tight, Marinette returned the tight hug as she pulled the two boys into the hug as well, crying softly as she held all her friends for the first time in 4 years. "Look, I don't have long before my aunt is going to come and tell the doctors I've gone mad, we need to go now. I'll explain everything later." Marinette started to pull them out of the hospital, she was more aware of everything than she ever was in the last 4 years, and her friends believed her.
Adrien scooped Marinette up in her arms, since he was faster than her, he always had been, even when they were younger. As the group sprinted out of the hospital, they were all hit with a rush of adrenaline as alarms started to go off in the hospital, nurses were now chasing the group of teens down. "Stop! She needs to be evaluated still!" A nurse screamed from behind them as doctors tried to close off the exits, but forgetting an open window the group made their great escape from the hospital, Luka was behind all the nurses, but now at the front as he jumped out after them, but he watched as they all loaded up into an extremely expensive looking car and sped off. "Girl, now you gotta tell us what was going back there, that was crazy!" Alya howled with laughter as the group tried to process all that had just happened.
Marinette sighed as she was now able to explain everything. "After the car accident me and my parents were in, I had nasty amnesia, the doctors weren't sure I would ever get my memory back, but every time I would have a fainting spell I would get part of my memory back, and slowly I got closer and closer to remembering everything, the first time I mentioned any of you she'd call me delusional and say I needed to be put in a coma until I stopped saying any of your names, slowly over time I'd forget everything, probably from the medication they'd give me after my fainting spells, but that was how my aunt kept me here, if I didn't remember anything I had no reason to go back to Paris, and she could do whatever she wanted with everything I inherited from my parents." Marinette explained, though all her friends still looked confused, why had she inherited anything from her parents, they were all under the impression they were still alive.
Adrien was the first to speak up, despite his eyes still being on the road in front of them. "Are your parents not around anymore?" He asked, alya and nino were looking at Marinette for the answer, the navy haired girl just frowned as she looked at her 3 closest friends. "They died on impact. A driver in a huge truck was drunk and driving on the wrong side of the road. They both died protecting me. The trauma of it was what caused my amnesia." Marinette spoke lowly as she looked at the floor of the overly expensive vehicle, she still couldn't believe that her parents were gone herself.
The rest of the drive back to Paris was silent, the 3 were letting Marinette mourn, since she never properly got the chance to mourn her parents, it broke their hearts hearing her cry, Alya comforting her in the back seat, a few hours later they arrived at Adrien's mansion, he was the only one with room for her, and his father knew her, so he figured it wouldn't be an issue her staying with them till she turned 18, would graduate, and get her own place, that was if her and Adrien didn't decide to move out together since they were soulmates. Adrien got out of the car and walked over to Marinette's door, opening it for her. "M'Lady." He spoke jokingly as he tried to brighten her mood even just a little bit. Marinette smiled a little at the familiar gesture, she knew he was her soulmate from the foggy memories of her amnesiac state, but she was just glad to have him back as her friend, even if they were eventually meant to be romantically involved with each other, she could never deny the fact that she did have a huge crush on him, just as every soulmateless girl in Paris, except he was her soulmate, and she was now more aware of that than ever. "Thanks Chaton." She kissed his cheek in thanks for trying to cheer her up.
