ROBYN
King parks his car in our large circle driveway. We sit there for a minute without saying a word. I should probably go. I don't what I'm waiting for but something is making me stay. I finally unlock the car door and King stops me before I can get out.
"What's up?" I ask him furrowing my perfectly arched brows.
"You weren't going to say good night? How rude would that be?" He puts his hand over his heart, pretending to be hurt.
I smile at him. "Good night, King." He stares at me intently and I start getting nervous and wanting to get out the car because of the effect he has on me.
"Why are you staring at me like that?"
"You're beautiful. A real masterpiece." He compliments and I turn my head so he won't see me blushing. I'm pretty sure my cheeks are as red as a tomato. He gently turns my face and I'm staring in his beautiful brown eyes. The sound of my heart is pounding.
"King..." I start to say when he leans down and pecks my lips softly. I wrap my arms around his neck and he tangles his hands in my hair and pulls me closer to him which deepens the kiss. His tongue runs across my bottom lip and I open my mouth. Our tongues move in sync as we explore each other's mouths. I feel a surge of adrenaline and the temperature inside the car rises and our bodies are pressed together.
I smile through the kiss. That was by far the most passionate and heated kiss I've ever had. My mouth feels tingly and I could literally jump on King right now. I can't help that I'm falling for him. I don't want to and I didn't ask for it, but I am and its getting harder to stop.
He pecks my lips one more time before saying good night. He waits for me to get safely inside the house before driving away.
I pull my phone back out from my clutch and see the missed calls from Remi. I march to her room immediately.
She is still up and watching TV. She looks angry and frightened. "What you up to?" I ask. She doesn't look my way and keeps her eyes glued to the TV. "You called me?"
"You said if something happens to call and that's what I did but you were too busy partying to answer the phone right?" She snaps. I curse myself under my breath. I totally forgot to call her back after I over heard Jason and Officer Donaldson's conversation. I'm still really shocked and confused.
"Remi, I'm sorry. It was too loud and I tried going outside but something came up."
She rolls her eyes dramatically. "Yeah, whatever." I smack my lips. I'm really tired of her attitude today. She needs to calm down and tell what happened. Her little tail is getting too damn hot for me. She better fix it before I smack some senses into her. I'm not her mother but I damn sure will not hesitate to do so.
"Listen, Remi. This is the last time I'm going to tell you to calm down so we can get through this together. Watch your mouth when you talk to me. I will not have you disrespect me and walk all over me. No, I am not your mother but I am your sister and your legal guardian. I would not hesitate to lock you up here if I have to or smack some senses in you. You'll listen to what I say and I don't want to hear back talk either. My house, my rules. Understood?" I hope I don't have to get serious like that ever again but it was well needed. I am grown and I will not allow my fifteen year old sister treat me however she please.
She looks taken aback and doesn't respond or say any smart remarks. That's what I thought. Now that's how you do it!
"Now what happened?"
She exhales deeply. "I went for a swim not too long ago and someone tried to drown me. They ran away before I could see who it was. It felt like a man but I'm not sure."
