The song is what Jordyn sings in the chapter later on. (: Enjoy!
Alex could barely breathe as he stared at the suit. Was it a fake? Why would his father have a fake Arrow costume? But most costumes weren't in spandex-only the real suit had that fabric, at least that's what he thought. That's what they were when he got costumes when he was younger.
Alex grabbed the box and brought it out of the basement. He took it straight to his room, completely forgetting the pizza he had originally planned to eat. Despite knowing his mother wasn't home, Alex locked his door and shut the blinds. He dumped the box's contents all over the floor. Out dropped a briefcase, a satchel, a leather brown belt, and ten things in a silvery metal: two boots, two giant tubes with holes on each end and three holes in each, and six thin hollow tubes with one hole on one end each.
He held up one of the tubes, looking through it like a telescope; except, instead of seeing his bedroom wall, he simply saw the other end of the tube. The other hole was on the bottom of the tube, at the other end.
None of this was making any sense, so Alex set all the tubes aside and grabbed the boots and suit. He hung the suit on a hanger in his closet so he could see it stretched out. At the bottom, he placed the feet of the suit inside the boots. He took a step back, examining it; it actually looked kind of silly.
Alex grabbed the satchel. He opened it and looked inside, shocked at what he saw. With shaking hands, he dumped the satchel's contents out, staring at the several different shapes and sizes of arrows-all of them extremely sharp. Some of them looked deadly, while others looked to be mostly painful. Alex couldn't believe it; these arrows were real.
Carefully, Alex placed the arrows back in the satchel before placing the bag next to the silver tubes.
Still a bit shocked at the discovery, he turned to the briefcase and opened it. Inside, he saw nothing but folders filled with papers. Confused, he pulled the first folder out and opened it. Inside were various formulas that made Alex's head hurt-not because he wasn't smart, but because these were meant for someone who had a master's degree in science.
Alex set this folder aside and opened the second one. It had sketches of the pieces of the suit-a tutorial of how to put it together. Alex eagerly laid it our across his bedroom floor and found all the tubes, ready to attach them.
The first photo showed one of the larger silver tubes being placed on the arm of the figure. Alex made an 'O' shape with his mouth as he slipped it on his arm. His hand came out the other end, causing him to smile lightly as he realize the giant tubes were arm guards.
Animated, Alex turned back to the instructions; the pictures showed that three of the small tubes were to be placed on the arm band, evenly spaced, the hole facing away from himself. He put the first one in the middle, and it immediately stuck, almost like it was magnetic. The other two he put on either side of the first small tube, and they stuck as easily as the first. He quickly did the same thing with the second arm band.
"Cool." Alex grinned, pleased with himself and his progress. "Now what's the next step?" he said to himself.
He glanced down at the instructions. The picture seemed to be telling him to ... put the arrows in the small tubes? No, to "carefully" put the arrows in the tubes, because apparently, some of them were poisonous. Alex frowned-this didn't seem like it would go well. Holding his breath, he cautiously grabbed the arrows and placed them one-by-one inside the tubes. The next step was to touch a small button on the bottom part of the arm band. Alex pressed it, and the arrows were immediately sucked inside the tiny tubes so that they were no longer able to be seen.
