A web of deception

Chapter 1

First kill

Lilah had been living a comfortable life. She had a family that loved her and a job as a freelance writer that she enjoyed. It was a good life, except for the fact that she was a secret murderer of course.

One day, she heard about a man who had raped an eight year old girl. The idea of such an action filled her with a rage that she could not contain. She had to do something about it.

So she tracked down the man, and despite her petite size, managed to overpower him. She tied him up and then proceeded to torture him. She broke each of his fingers one by one, demanding to know why he had done such a horrific thing.

When Lilah was done, she had gotten the truth from him. He had known what he was doing and wanted to inflict pain on an innocent child. And with that knowledge, he was ready to pay for his actions.

Lilah decided that he could not go unpunished and so in a fit of rage, she slashed his throat making small cuts and pouring salt on his wounds before eventually killing him. She may not have been able to bring the man to justice, but she had made sure he suffered for his crime. The eight year old victim may have never seen justice, but at least Lilah had done something to help them feel a bit of closure.

It may have been a dark chapter in her life, but it made Lilah realize that she had the power to fight for what is right and to stand up for those who have suffered. She vowed to never be a victim and to always use her strength to make a difference.
