— the first time Nathaniel discovered he was a supe was when he was eight years old. He never understood why he couldn't be around people, why his mother was terrified of him. Of course for an eight year old he didn't think he could really be scary to someone.
It was a simple game of tag alongside the other kids in his class, a boy had pushed him off the playground set, making his knee scrap over. He just remembered feeling so humiliated and angry.
So when he went to confront the boy, his hand touching his shoulder. He watched as the boys flesh cracked away into dust, his eyes wide as he vanished away into a cloud of smoke and ashes.
It was as if a doll breaking, not a trace of a human being was left behind, only the horror of screaming and crying as the other children ran.
He remembered each name, each face as he cried and watched everyone run away from him. He remembered the cracks that formed on his arms as he tried to free himself of his punishment.
He had spent so many years after that locked inside cell after cell, room after room. His mother and father isolated away from him, and he never touched a human being again. Until he was found, vought bought the boy when he turned sixteen.
His life was controlled from there, and he became a weapon, he never wanted to be a hero. He just wanted to finally be able to not be feared by people.
He knew everyone was terrified of him, at least until Annie January became apart of the seven, and she wasn't terrified of him at all.

— authors note: my josh hutcherson obsession is back... I spent a few weeks planning this, I of course plan on having it connect to another fic, I was mainly waiting for gen v to end so I could see if this was the route I wanted to make. Of course I decided fuck it, I'll have the stories connect, I'm really excited for this story, I recently just finished the boys and it was amazing. A lot of you asked for an annie fic so of course I did it. I plan on making a update schedule next week once I have all my drafts out, I literally have like 2 left to publish, but it might be 3, I'm tempted to make another boys fic already lol or even gen v.
