Jessica's POV
Hi, I'm Jessica Aburime, your average secondary school girl with impeccable skin and a sense of maturity.
Scratch that, I only feel or act mature because I'm not used to expressing my innermost feelings.
I'm not an introvert, I just stay quiet in most situations and I'm only loud and jovial when I feel like associating with other humans in my class.
'' Wakey wakey, eggs and bakey!''. My alarm clock sounded.
'' Oo God, which kain rubbish be this early momo, agh!.'' I groaned and reached out to smash the stupid thing.
Welp, welcome to my world.
I whispered a short prayer before getting up. I took my towel before heading to the bathroom to get ready for school.~~~~
I went to the bathroom to get ready to go back to hell, aka 'school'.
I was playing one of my favorite songs titled Annabella when suddenly, my elder brother screamed from his room for me to turn it down.
He said and i quote "Turn that shit down before I destroy you!."
I rolled my eyes and lowered the volume of my music.
I quickly got dressed and skipped down the hall to my brother's room and yelled ''Guy, i dey go chop for dining oo, you better wear your rubbish fast before momzy leave us commot for house''.
''I don hear you joor, commot.'' He barked.
What lovely siblings we are!. (Note the sarcasm).~~~~
I quickly grab 6 slices of bread and my mug of tea and i start eating.
My brother saunters down the stairs like the queen he is and stares at me in horror.
" Wetin do you?". I ask.
" As normal human being, why you go dey chop 6 slices of bread?". He belted out.
"Commot joor, na why you thin like pankere ". I retorted.
He rolled his eyes, grabbed an apple and bit into it noisily.
I wiped my mouth and stood up, as I was finished with my food.
He looked at me in disgust and I winked cheekily.
My mom comes down the staircase and greets us both good morning.
" Oya oo, before we go, let us pray." She says.
I rolled my eyes . " But momzy, we prayed in our rooms na." I whined.
She gives me her signature side eye and I quickly shut my big mouth up.
Never mess with a Nigerian mom.
" Oya, Oya, close your eyes oo. Father lord, we magnify your name, we thank you for waking us up this morning, we glorify your name oh lord. Father as we go out to our respective areas of concentration today, bless us. In Jesus name we have prayed"
" Amen!." We chorused.
" Oya, everyone in the car." She says.
" I call shotgun!!!." I scream before my brother had the chance to.
He gives me the finger and my mom berates him for it.
I stick out my tongue and run as fast as I can to the car.
