Many years ago, there were immortal beings called the Goldens, named for the color of their golden blood. They had supernatural strength, inhuman beauty, and could not be seen by human eyes, only when they wanted to be seen. They protected people, cared for the lives of humans, keeping away fantastical beings like vampires and werewolves. The Goldens were like... angels.
But there came a time when the Goldens became enchanted by mortality and wanted it. Some were lost. The Goldens became involved with humans and thus broke with the purity of the species. Some Goldens were banished and became mortals, others were sentenced to death for their actions. But the consequences were not just death and banishment; the joining of the two species formed a new species: the mortal guardians.
Hybrids of humans and Goldens. Mortality, human feelings, and some human weaknesses. The strength, protection, and senses of the Goldens.
With the number of Mortal Guardians increasing, a Golden saw that his species was becoming extinct. So he made a sword with his own blood, the Golden Sword.
This sword is very powerful, capable of transforming any Guardian into a Golden and killing any other supernatural being. But in the wrong hands, it is also very dangerous.
And I was chosen to keep it away from the wrong hands. And with this responsibility, I also have to discover who I am.
