The night was clear with not a cloud in sight. The moon shined in the dark sky, providing light for all. On a mountain pass a streak of silver and blue raced down the road at high speeds, gripping the corners elegantly as not a single scratch lands upon the shining metallic finish. It's a BMW M3 GTR with a big wing spoiler, a wide body kit and vaguely see through dark black tinted windshield a rolecage installed. the driver appears to be a young man in his mid twenties and was smirking as he took another corner with a smooth grip style turn. After a few minutes he arrived to the top of the mountain pass. Other people of tuned and modefied cars are also present, hurdled in groups, chatting with each other. Everyone stopped in their tracks once the BMW parked inside the parking area. People surrounded the young man as exits his vehicle. A chinese slightly older man greeted him with a vigorous handshake much to younger man's discomfort.
"Wow Ghazali you were so cool attacking those corners!" the man said as he jumped up and down like a toddler getting candy. This only earned him a slap at at the back of the head by an Indian female seemingly in her late teen years. "Come on Mala, you don't want to send "The Tong" to the hospital, now don't you?" Ghazali said as he chuckled seeing his best friend rubbing the back of his head due to the soreness. "Might as well send him to a mental asylym to cure his annoying attitude." she mumbled, annoyed as hell. The people around them are either admiring Ghazali or his car or both. The young man is known for his insane driving skills and is regarded as the fastest in all of Cyberaya in the street racing scene. Many have challenged him but most were left in the dust but there those are able to keep up and some crash. However none had won against Ghazali. He was nicknamed "The Whining Ghost" thanks to the absurdly loud straight cut gears "whine" and his absurd speed that gives the impression that one is racing against a ghost. A whining sound would echoe throughout the road sending chills down anyone's spine. Only four individuals raced Ghazali and managed to end with a tie. Though they disappeared as quickly as they appeared.
Suddenly, screeches of burning rubber echoed from the road, a few seconds later a metallic maroon Nissan Skyline GTR R34 appeared as it slows down and stops right in front of the BMW. The driver steps out revealing the to be a female wearing a dark green hoodie with light green trims over a red oversized hoodless sweater and blue jeans and white Converse sneakers with black trims. Her facial expression reeks sass and determination. Without hesitation she walked towards Ghazali and held her waist with both hands. "You're The Whining Ghost?" she asked, as she scanned Ghazali up and down. Unimpressed. Ghazali responded with a nod. "Good, cuz' I want a race. Heard from the streets I'll find you here." Before Ghazali could respond his friend beat him to it. "Listen here lady, you don't go around asking for an race! Especially from well-known hotshots like Ghazali." Tong said as his arms are crossed and his posture stiff. "Alright, I'll race you to prove my skills!" the young woman replied sassily as she enters her car. Now two cars ready in the middle of the road, each on their respective lanes. Tong's ride is an Alfa Romeo Brera pianted pearl grey with matte white wheels trimmed with chrome black. The race starts and the red Skyline pulled away. as the first corner appears the hoodied girl simply went in full throttle before gripping the road as she turns. As they raced, she outran Tong and the race was over rather quickly.
An embarassed Tong merely drove into the parking lot, scratching his head while Mala facepalmed. "She's worthy alright." Ghazali muttered under his breath, no one heard him of course. Then the actual race of the night start. Many people gathered and formed quite a big crowd. Ghazali's V8 engine purred as The Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) car alligned right next to his BMW. "I didn't catch your name earlier, what was it?" "Just call me Aliya. Tong stood in front the two cars in the center, starting the countdown.
"3!"
Both drivers shift into first gear and hold on the clutch with their left foot.
"2!"
Ghazali revved his engine as the crowd cheered.
"1!"
Aliya took a deep breath and focused on the road ahead
"Go!"
Both cars set off and Aliya takes the lead as thanks to her car's AWD drivetrain able to a better launch than that of RWD OR FWD. Ghazali's straight cut gears combined with the sound of the engine's sound blasted loudly as the crowd went crazy. Ghazali almost instantly overtakes Aliya thanks to the higher power and the still even ground as the two approached the first corner, a downhill corner. Ghazali clutches, downshift and stepped on the accelerator. A burst of flames emmited from the side exhaust as he attacks the corner with grip style. Aliya too clutches, downshift and stepped on the gas, turning the wheel, taking the corner with grip driving. Upon exiting the BMW opened full throttle, creating a big gap between it and the Skyline. Aliya bit her lip as she slammed the gas but her acceleration is nothing compared to Ghazali's. upon entering the second corner which happens to be a hairpin; Ghazali decided to slow down a bit to attack the corner but Aliya had the opposite idea, going in full speed!
"What the-" Aliya overtook him. She hit the clutch, downshifts and turns the steering wheel, BANG! as flames burst from the tailpipes. She successfully initiated a drift, clean and smooth. This is the first time Ghazali witnessed anyone drifting a AWD or 4WD car and this is the smoothest drift he's seen. He regained himself instantly and turned the corner. 'If it's drifting she wants, I'll give just that!" Some bystanders were in awe as the two cars drifted in sync like seeing a well choreographed dancing performance!
BRAKE
CLUTCH
DOWNSHIFT
TURN
BANGIt repeated as every corner became more and more intimidating as they raced. Now it is the final stretch as both cars are nose-to-nose. To determine the winner is to see who can exit the hairpin the fastest. Simultaneously, both cars braked, both drivers pressed the clutch, both turned the wheel. "Should I do it? Ah screw it!" Aliya then floored the gas which jerked the car forwards as she turns. "She's reckless!" Ghazali exclaimed as his teeth gritted, holding on the wheel firmly to turn in the corner. At the exit Aliya's Skyline is in the lead while Ghazali exiting almost the same time. Both racers crossed the finish line but Aliya is proven victorious with 0.5 seconds ahead of Ghazali.
"That was the most intense race I've ran my entire life!" Ghazali said as Aliya smiled sincerely. Both were sweating due to the instense battle but satisfied. She was the first and last racer able to outrun "The Whining Ghost". Later She gained the title of "Shadow of The Whining Ghost" as the two racers always race together drifting in sync, one shall not be seen without the other. They were untouched for many years to come. So legendary many made them as their idols. Even more tried challenging them but none suceeded.
