Leaning against the window, I watched as the rain fell from the sky due to earth's gravity pulling it down. I watched how it fell against the warm ground countless times. It beat the earth like a man beating a drum. The rain pounded against the earth as if trying to revive it from mankinds neglectful acts. Trying to give it the life that it once had and deserved but mankind repeatedly seemed to take away.

The rain pounded the earth like this for two weeks. Yesterday was the first day that it did not rain, but the overcast played mind games with us. It felt like any second the rain would come pouring down washing away mankinds dirty sins.

My silent meeting with the rain was interrupted by noise outside the front door. I folded my arms and walked toward the door, I stood on my toes and looked through the peep hole; no one. I planted my feet back on the ground and bit my bottom lip. Unlocking the door, I slowly poked my head out; a girl was walking from my left side with a black hoodie on and some running shorts.

Her flip flops flopped against the concrete as she eased on. Her hand touched her face as if trying to wipe away a tear. When she reached my door she looked at me with wet puffy eyes and smiled. Smiling back, I watched as she slowly came to a hault. "Im sorry," she said in a quiet raspy tone. Her hand returned to her face like before, I nodded my head slowly.

"Im sorry," she repeated again. "you know, if we were too loud. I told them to leave because I didn't want any complaints. But you know, boys are stubborn.." Her words trailed off as if wanting to say more. I smiled warmly and stepped from behind the door. She was looking to her left as if she knew they would come back to confirm her belief that they were stubborn.

"It's alright," I softly responded. "I wasn't doing much of anything. Just watching the rain." I said with laughter in my voice. Still looking to her left, a small smirk engraved on her lips. A tear fell from her eyes and rolled down her cheek, she wiped it away. She then looked back at me and half smiled.

"Again, sorry for the noise. I will try to keep it down next time." She smiled as if trying to mask the hurt in her voice and on her face.

"Its cool, everyone gets loud every now and then. Just, if you feel that something is going to happen, come by and warn me." She shook her head at my response.

"The name is Lo by the way," she said. "I stay diagonal from you, in 713B." I looked down the breeze way to my right and saw the numbers 713B resting on the black door.

"Oh okay,"  I looked back at her. "Kurbi, I stay," I began to turn to look at my door.

"714B.." She said finishing my sentence.

"Yeah," I replied with embarrasment in my voice. "its only been two weeks. The number hasn't engraved itself in my head just yet." She smiled at my statement. She looked to her left again as if seeing if the boys had returned. Realizing that no one was there she looked back at me. She half smiled and slowly turned away. I watched as she walked down the breeze way. Leaning her body into the door, she opened it, and silentely disappeared inside.

Braidyn sat on the floor flipping threw a magazine. I laid curled up on the couch going through my contacts in my phone. I threw the phone to the other end of the couch and sighed.
