No matter how events unfold, I must find the Everglenns. Their descendants must know at least something. Fortunately, the whole world is now interconnected thanks to the global network, so why not take advantage of its benefits?
But what if they hide, and there are no traces of them even on the internet? What if they have moved, for example, to Europe or elsewhere long time ago? And even if I manage to contact them, will they be willing to share something so personal? What if...
A barrage of doubts overwhelmed my thoughts, yet it did not deter me from my further actions. The laptop was already on, and the browser window was open - time to start the search.
I delved into the labyrinth of social networks. As my cursor danced across the screen, a moment of revelation struck-there it was, a profile with the name Michael Everglenn.
My heart quickened its pace as I scrutinized the page, seeking any connection to Harper or Emberlynn. The weathered face of an old man stared back at me from the profile picture, and a pang of recognition stirred within. Could this be Harper's cousin and Emberlynn's father?
He lived in Di Flores Manor. He lost Di Flores Manor. His daughter, Emberlynn, was killed in Di Flores Manor. He has many, too many bad memories associated with this house.
What to write to a person who experienced all that horror many years ago? Will they agree to talk about it? Do they even remember the events of that period?
I gathered my thoughts, and after a few minutes, the message was ready:
Dear Mr. Everglenn,
I hope this message finds you well. I've been reflecting on the past lately and wanted to reach out to you. I understand that many years have passed since those difficult times, and I respect whatever feelings or memories you may have from that period. If you are comfortable, I would like to talk and share thoughts, acknowledging the challenges we faced together. However, I completely understand if it's not something you wish to revisit. Your well-being is paramount, and I respect any boundaries you may have.
If you ever feel ready or willing to discuss those times, I am here to listen and support in any way I can. Otherwise, I hope this message brings only positive energy your way.
Take care,
