~ Truth emerges more readily from error than from confusion. ~

Emaline Throndsone

My head was aching, and I felt a headache on its way. I found my glasses beside me.It was the same dark room again, but this time, it didn't feel like a dream. I found myself naked in the same bed I remember from my dreams, but this time, it was more clear and not as misty.

Someone opened the door and startled me. She looked familiar, but I couldn't place who she was. "Ohh good, you're finally up." Was what she said as she passed the bed to what I assumed was a wardrobe and came back with clothes. She gave them to me to wear, but I couldn't do it in front of her but before I could say anything she turned around and I put on the hoodie and pants that matched on without questioning.

"I'm so sorry about what happened. I swear it was a mistake." She told me in a sad tone with her back facing me

"What happened exactly?" I asked as soon as I was done putting on the clothes

"You don't remember?" She gave me a sorry look as if my question seemed to sadden her even more

"No,not -" Before I could finish my answer, the door opened, and the girl I had met on holiday came in and looked at me from head to toe

"Are those my clothes?" She rolled her eyes and passed us without waiting for an answer. A few moments passed of silence, and she came out to leave without saying another word

"Where am I?" I asked the first girl I'd seen since waking up."I want to leave." I was beginning to panic

"Well, you can't go." When she told me that I desperately tried to run but my body stopped in place being held by some type of force

"Listen -"

"I don't want to be here! Let me go!" I tried kicking my legs and forcing my hands to move, but only then did it click in that I'm not actually held by anything "what the fuck are you doing to me!!??" I screamed at her

"Look you need to relax. You are technically dead." I couldn't believe my ears

"That's not true." I retaliated against her

"Well, it actually is. Let me show you." She got closer to me as I tried my best to move

Was I actually dead? Did I end up in hell?

"No, you didn't. Just calm and let me explain." She said it in a calm voice that made me believe she was actually trying to calm me, so I did as she asked, and she let me go with whatever was holding me. We quietly dat down on the bed as she seemed to gather herself. As she did that, I realized something. She answered a question I didn't verbally ask

"Okay, let's start this out properly. Hi, I'm Elizabeth, and you are?" She extended her hand to me, and I took it ready to understand what I was caught up in

"Emaline,"I answered

"Well Emaline you're technically dead. You have become immortal, meaning you can live forever. I accidentally killed you when I found you with my sister in that kitchen the other day. I was so angry at Brielle that it pissed me. I asked her to bring you back to life. Although there are some side effects." She explained so swiftly, but I couldn't grasp anything she was saying

"What do you mean the other day?" I asked the first question that got in the way of understanding what occurred on that day

"You've been out for three days." She answered straightforwardly

"How do you accidentally kill someone in such a proximity? Why were you pissed at your sister to involve me, and how the hell does your sister bring back to life? What did you mean by side effects?" I asked these questions the same immediately as they came to mind

"Well, I'm a vampire with the ability to hurt someone from the inside and end up causing their death due to my unstable reaction to my emotions. I was angry at Brielle for being where she wasn't supposed to be, and I had to go fetch her. Well, she's a vampire, therefore having the power to bring people back to life, but as for side effects, you have to sell your soul to them and by doing so you became her pet." She explained, seeming more panicked than I was

"Excuse me, what?" I asked in disbelief. There was no way I was dead. I can breathe, I highly doubt this is heaven, so this had to be hell

"Which part?" She asked me as if this was a teacher explaining the homework that I had to do

"I'm in hell." Was what I said before crashing my head on the bed, causing my glasses to push back up to my face. I truly wasn't a fan of this vampire thing

"No, you're not." She tried to convince me other, but I wasn't really listening. This all seemed like shows and movies you saw on television, not in real life

"I just want to go back home." I stopped her in her endless blabbering about something I didn't hear

"Well, that's another side effect. You can't go home. I can't allow you to. You're one of us now."
