.A golden beam of light streamed through the window, its vibrant hue casting an otherworldly glow upon the vines, which partially engulfed the window's frame.
As the sun's golden rays permeated the room, casting a warm glow upon the surroundings, the reader's eyes fluttered open, the soft creak of their wakefulness echoing through the otherwise silent space.
"Where—"
A sense of unfamiliarity washed over them as Reader's gaze slowly roamed around the decrepit structure, it's walls adorned with the remnants of ivy and overgrowth. The dilapidated setting radiated a sense of foreboding, though some faint memories of familiarity still lingered.
Where were they?
As they sat upright, Reader took note of their surroundings, attempting to make sense of their unfamiliar location. Each moment revealed a new detail--broken windows, moldy walls, a dilapidated floorboards--which only served to deepen the confusion surrounding them.
It'd been so long, so long since consciousness felt like ..This. Had they been revived? But, by who? And why were they in some kind of ruins?
So many questions, and not very many answers.
They had to find a way out.
Quickly, rising to their feet, Reader stumbled about, not yet used to this.. new body. They'd need to find a mirror sometime soon, something felt, off.
As they got their bearings, they made their way through the building, slowly coming to as they begun to recognize the halls, recognize this mystery place. —They'd been here before.
Sometime, long ago, When they were Alive, They were here.
Making their way out of the building, they came to a main hall, A sanctuary.
This was .. A church.
This was ..The church.
Church Prime of the Dream SMP.
As Reader peered up at the remains of the stained glass, they took notice to it's condition. Somehow the intricate artwork of one of the gods had made it.
With his Green cloak, His Mask of an "XD" carved into it. Though, Abstracted, It was still recognize-able.
Curious how that stained glass portrait remained.
Staring into the portrait, It would be then that things began flooding back.
The memories of the SMP.
The memories of Tommy,
-Of Wilbur, of Tubbo, Of everyone! The memories of Dream.
-And the distorted memories of it's ending.
The feeling was palpable, a tangible unease permeating the air. There was an undercurrent of uncertainty permeating all aspects of the memories, something that eluded Reader, just beyond their grasp.
Why couldn't they remember how it all ended?
Suddenly, A soft, yet loud, yet Whisper of a voice echoed through the room.
"You lost everything. Won't you give it Another try, Reader?"
They paused. It felt as though the voice had echoed through their mind, disembodied and ominous.
But it was correct. From what they could remember, it seemed they had lost it all. And it most not have ended well, if they'd died in the end anyways.
Yet to take into account the full meaning of the words the voice had said, they turned around to try and navigate this abandoned version of their world. -If this was even the same world.
Upon exiting the Church through the main entrance, they noticed only a single door remained. Stepping out on the prime path, they gazed out into what appeared to be an entire forest encasing the once open SMP.
The prime path hardly remained, everything either overgrown, or eroded away. It all really seemed to be gone. Gods, What happened?
The wind blew, rustling the trees leaves, blowing grass too. It seemed like it must have been over a century since the SMP was thriving, and this, in turn, sparked another question mark.
Was Reader the only one back?
The thought was terrifying, to say the least. All alone in a world that they'd loved and lived in, laughed and cried.
No. They couldn't dwell on that, right now they needed to find their old home.
Maybe there were some answers to what happened there.
Yes. It was decided.
