Enzo got bigger and bigger by the day! His training was good and so was mine. I learned all of the water elements. Now I had fire and water. The next chapter of my training had began wind. The winds change an awful lot it makes them harder to control. Still Lilly is patient with me. Lilly is as old as the sky. Yet Lilly is as beautiful as a flower. As graceful as the wind dancing between twigs and tall grass. Yet as wise as the stars them self. Everyone loved Lilly it was impossible not to. That's why my personal time with Lilly decreased when a tribe of humans started trade with us. I didn't mind them to much I played with the small children and gained friends. The rules were thought when ever a human was around, no magic, no dragons, no anything fun to me. When humans were around we were to be human. But at least they only came around winter time for trade. Until Edmund. He visited Lilly every day. He was annoying. He took away all my training time. Lilly would ask him to leave at times but she seemed to ask him less and less. Soon Lilly even broke a rule! Her rules! She showed Edmund MY dragon Enzo. She began to try to teach HIM magic!! He was taking my trainer, my friend, my family. When the humans were to move I was joyful. I slept with peace knowing nothing could ruin my day. Tomorrow things would go back the way they were. I was dreaming of what tomorrow held when I heard a branch twig snap. I whipped up to sit. I walked slowly over to the window. Lilly looked toward my window and I fell to the floor before she could see me. Sneaking a peek Lilly turned toward the woods and continued. Where she was going at this late hour was beyond me. I grabbed my sandals. Sneaking out followed the path Lilly had took. Little blue butterflies flooded the path. Lilly had taught me about the blue butterflies. They didn't fly the floated on the wind. I sent a little breeze picking them up in the air. She had also told me they were good at keeping secrets. They never told. But they could always find guilt. I followed the butterflies toward a small opening. I was soaked with morning dew that was softly falling from the trees. I peaked over a leave to see Edmund and Lilly in the clearing. He was suppose to be gone. Lilly was showing him the butterflies lifting them up with her wind. Blue dust flew off the butterflies with each gentle breeze. The two of them were covered. Lilly and Edmund's eyes met. The stood looking at each other for a moment. Slowly there lips collided. A lump formed in my throat and tears formed in my eyes. Edmund hugged Lilly brushing her hair back whispering in her ear. I listened closely.
"Just leave her."
Edmund suggested to Lilly. Her was me! I knew it! A tear escaped my eye. I quickly dried it. Lilly would never leave me especially this early in training.
"I'll just leave her."
The tears fell. She didn't just say that! She wouldn't! She couldn't! She loved me ore then Edmund! She was training me first!
"We will get the dragon and go?"
Lilly nodded
"We will get the dragon and go."
They turned around walking slowly hand in hand. I saw Lilly's eyes now. Lilly's eye lashes were covered in snow.It was an enchantment. I knew Lilly would never fall for a human. I ran back to the house and saddled up Enzo. We would save Lilly I knew we could. Enzo flew me up.
"You can do this Enzo, I believe in you." Edmund looked up grunting in frustration.
"The little brat!"
"The little brat."
Lilly repeated him. It was an enchantment.
"Now Enzo!"
Enzo swooped down. He opened his mouth and aimed for Edmund. I place my hands on Enzo's back and had my hands warm his heart up. Then a fire quickly started in Enzo's chest and shot. Edmund fell to the ground on fire. Lilly ran toward him. I landed Enzo and graves Lilly back. The frost around her eyes was gone.
"I did it! Lilly your back!"
"Emma let go of me! What is the meaning of this! Edmund!"
"Enzo got him with his breath! Weren't we great, we saved you!"
"Saved me?!? You mean broke my heart! You killed Edmund!"
"He had you under an enchantment!"
"No he didn't! You! You! Killed Edmund! The only one who understood me!"
I looked down. She grabbed Edmund's body. Lilly was crying over him. Her head buried in his burned body.
"I understand you...."
Without looking me in the eye Lilly answered.
"You are nothing like me. When I'm done with your training you live forever! I will die when your training is done! I just wanted something good to wake up to! When I look at you I think of death, my death! You are death! You are never going to be the carer of nature! I'm done training you!"
I jump on Enzo that insist and fly away. I cry the whole flight. I don't look back. I don't even think of Lilly or Edmund. I just kept hearing Lilly's word again and again
"You are death!"
