it's a friday night in seoul. most college kids are out with friends, drinking, visiting family, or just having a good time in general. however, kim minjeong is sat studiously in her apartment. minjeong would rather be alone, working on her school work. she wasn't the type to go out and see people. she hated attention. she was content with ning, she didn't need anyone else, and she was happy that way. she felt like having a lot of people in her life was overwhelming. as she was lost in her studying, her phone went off and she decided it was time for a break anyway.

ning:)

minjeongieee!! let's go out!! please?

ning, i'm busy studying for exams.

oh come onnn, you need to take a break! you still have the rest of the weekend to study.

you know i don't like going out though, ning

i know, which is why i want you to come and hang out with me. we can get dinner or something i don't know i just want to get you out of your apartment for a bit!

hmm... what's in it for me?

i'll pay for your dinner?

i don't know.. is free dinner worth my time tiger?

yes because you're with me.. and it's free food

where would we be going?

we can go get ramen at han river? then maybe we can do something fun after, but don't ask me what. i didn't get that far yet.

we'll see, but fine, come by when you're ready. i'll be ready in a few.

she put her phone down to start getting ready. before she stood up, her door opened.

"i was already sitting on your couch i just was hoping i could bribe you through text first" ning said as she walked into the room

"ning what the hell?" minjeong exclaimed

"what? it's your fault you gave me the code to your apartment, why are you surprised?"

"because you could've just.. i don't know, walked in here and asked me if i wanted to go?" she said back with confusion and sarcasm in her voice

"well that was the back up plan if you didn't say yes when i texted you" ning replied with a smirk on her face. she knew that either way she would win.

"well can you at least get out so i can get dressed?" she asked

"no, because we both know you're going to take forever to decide and then end up asking me so i might as well just wait in here" she replied as she laid on minjeong's bed.

"fine, fine whatever" minjeong walked over to her closet to find an outfit. it was still warm outside, as it hasn't gotten cold quite yet.

"how's the weather outside? is it like, hot as in shorts and a tank top, warm like a tank top and pants, cold where i should just wear pants and a hoodie? give me an idea ning" minjeong asked

"hmm, tank top, pants, and a button up or some kind of cardigan to go over it just in case you get cold. then if you get hot you can just take the sweater off"

"okay okay, thank you i guess" minjeong said as she walked towards her bathroom.

"told you so..." ning whispered, but loud enough for minjeong to hear. as she was closing the door to her bathroom, minjeong shouted that she heard her to ning. all ning could do at that moment was laugh. as she was getting dressed, ning fixed minjeong's bed, as she knew her best friend didn't like leaving without making her place look nice and organized. everything had to be neat, drawers and doors had to be closed. when it came to minjeong, it's like she has eagle eyes on her things. everything is organized in a specific way, that way she can immediately spot if anything is missing. ning touched everything up except for minjeong's desk. she knew that she would at least want to fix something and that ning couldn't do just everything. just as she finished, minjeong came out of the bathroom.

"thank you ning, you know me best" she smiled towards her best friend, as she started to fix her stack of books and papers.

"of course i do, anyway, ready to head out now?"

"i believe so"

"phone, wallet, keys?" ning asked

"check, check, and check. everything is good, let's go!" they turned the lights off, and headed out to han river, stopping at the convenience store to grab their ramen. once they finished, they found a spot to sit and talked about their lives. more so, ning updating minjeong on her life since minjeong is usually just doing the same thing.

"oh, i have a suggestion, i don't know if you'll say yes, but i want to ask anyway because i want to do something fun." ning blurted out

"okay.. what is it?" minjeong carefully asked.

"my friend, her name is aeri, she asked if i wanted to go do karaoke with her and her friend tonight. i told her that i was hanging out with you, and she insisted that you come too.. i was wondering if you'd want to? maybe? please?" ning was practically begging at this point.

"you know how i am with new people though, i don't know ning"

"come on! it'll be fun, it's time for you to see more people other than me"

"but i'm perfectly content with just you and i."

"that sounds a little sad. i mean don't get me wrong, i love you, but it wouldn't hurt to meet new people. how about you go with me, and if you don't have fun or like these people i will not ask you to go out in public with me for a week." she put her proudest smile on in front of minjeong, hoping it worked.

"fine. just this once, but i swear if i hate it, i am not going out in public with you for a week and a half."

"whatever party pooper. i'll let her know we're coming. let's drop the blanket off at the apartment then head over? sound okay?"

"yeah, that's fine. i want to grab a hoodie anyway." with that, they packed their things and headed towards minjeong's apartment. it was only a 10 minute walk, so it wasn't too long. once they got to the apartment, they quickly put their things away, minjeong grabbed her hoodie, and then a water bottle. they headed out, and made their way towards the place.
