As the years passed, Cale turned 14. His days were monotonous and simple, always following the same rubbish routine. He was tired and frustrated, he misses his mother and always blamed himself for it. Since his mother's death no one ever cared about him again, he didn't really care about that, or so he wanted to think.

One night, returning from a bar as always, he decided to go through the garden where he was playing with his mother, that garden full of flowers the same color as his late mother's hair.

Step by step he walked through that garden, the memories overwhelmed him and soon he wanted to cry like a 5-year-old child looking for his mother. He ignored that tortuous feeling and gave a long sigh to continue walking towards the exit of the now withered garden.

When he was about to leave he could hear a soft meow.

- 'Was that... A cat?'

He began to approach the place where the meows were coming from and soon came across two small kittens, one silver and the other red. Both looked like infants since their size was small compared to a young cat. When he tried to get a little closer, the silver kitten growled while the other kitten curled up next to a black egg that reached almost to Cale's knee.

- 'Who could have left these poor kittens and this egg on this cold night?'

He wondered as a complicated look came into his eyes. In a moment of not thinking he decided to grab both cats and the egg.

Even though the cats bit him and scratched him until he bled, he still held them as he entered the mansion. He could be trash but he wasn't a monster.
As he opened the door to his room, without letting any kittens or eggs fall on the floor, he entered his large room. His room was large but modest, it had little furniture placed so that the room didn't look so big and desolate.

He soon left the kittens and the egg on his bed with great care. The kittens kept meowing and growling at him without stopping. The silver kitten positioned itself in front of the red kitten and the egg.
Cale looked at this scene with love and sadness at the same time.
He took a sharper and deeper look at the small beings in front of him and realized that they were very skinny and trembling. They were probably dying of hunger and cold.

He quickly walked to the door and called for his butler, Ron.

- Ron, bring me light food and some warm milk without anything.

Cale ordered as he received a benign smile from the butler and a nod.

He soon re-entered the room and sat down while looking at the little ones. He started thinking about how to take care of them and why these beings were outside on such a cold night.

-Tsk.

He clicked his tongue, slightly scaring the kittens who were still alert, they were scared and cold. The kittens looked at each other, giving each other nods, and began scanning the room for an exit. Cale, still lost in his thoughts, did not realize that.

Soon a light knock was heard on the door. Cale stood up and walked to the door.

-Young Master, here is your request.

-Thank you Ron. You can go.

Cale thanked him as he grabbed the tray of food without letting Ron see into the room, then he closed the door on him, leaving Ron a little stunned by it but he still recovered quickly and returned to his work.
