Extended Summary
Falling in love doesn't happen all at once it takes time, you don't just wake up one day and say you love someone, the process takes much longer than that. You fall excruciatingly slow. The process takes so long because you're afraid to hit the bottom. Because once you're at the bottom there's no turning back you will either hit something soft and comforting, something that will treasure you and your heart forever. Or you will hit something hard and painful and this thing will break your heart into a thousand pieces and when you try to get all the pieces back and run away you usually forget one or two in that terrible place. That is why its called heart break an thats why people cry when it happens because they lost a piece of there heart and they don't have the slightest chance of get it back.
Olivia Hunter thought she was prepared for heart break. She was wrong. Very, very wrong, but over time she's able to put her heart back together but it's just not the same with a few gaping holes left in it. Her way of coping with these gaping holes is to push everyone else away. Unfortunately Derek Michelson isn't going to give up that easily.
