1,758 adults, 358 children and 79 teens left on this Earth and why should Selena be worried? For years now the human race has been diminishing and scientists have tried to find a solution but have yet to fail. When she was four, her parent decided to put Selena in a group called "Little League Military" not knowing that it is an adoption center to train and stay there for life. When she was nine, that's when she found out the news that she would never see her family again. Now she wishes to see the outside world and too not stay put in this horrible jail for long. Selena is now trapped in a medium size  room which has white walls, a bed, two windows and a mirror. Her reflection just staring back at her in disgust while she waits. She has been locked up for 7 and a half hours. There is no telephone just a clock ticking back and forth while she just waits for whatever reason. Another twelve minutes goes by and finally the door swings open and slams shut behind the head chief at L.L.M (Little League Military). It's funny because the whole twelve years I've known him, he still has that same twinkle in his eyes when he gets mad...uh-oh this can't be a good sign. "Hello Chief. Could you, uh would you, mind telling me what's going on?" Said Selena anxious enough that her heart just might be beating out of her chest. "Is it correct that you have been her twelve years now and that the atmosphere is going to collapse on Earth any time now?" Said Chief making his way to sit by Selena. "Uh...yes but-" "Then I say that we should elect you to be head of the L.L.M." Said Brian. Altogether Selena felt just as confused as she looks and got more confused as he was talking more. "But you are head of the L.L.M. And besides, I would be absolutely terrified! I mean, what if someone goes missing-" "Well the human race is diminishing so that would solve the "what of someone goes missing part"." "I'm being serious Brian! How come you can't just take someone up for the lead or-" "Enough!" Chief never liked being called by his legal name for many reasons, but never has she seen his eyes glow like a blue fire before. And his hair is a blondish brownish color which in the light all of his features just start to enhance. Selena felt scarlet but probably looked worse. Brian spoke first and broke the unwanted silence. "We are being transferred into the outside world. I just got the call yesterday evening and haven't told anyone but you." Selena was all dumbfounded and nervously excited at the same time. The only place she really had known was here really and oh my God! Her parents! What if she sees them again? Would they miss her or just run away? Too many questions that none would get answered and now..."Hey are you alright?" Asked Brian. Selena finally withdrew her gaze and said "Uh yea I'm fine. I just have one question. Why did you want me to take over L.L.M. if we are being transferred?" "Because by 'we' I didn't mean you too. And besides you are still a minor. Sixteen. It would be best if you stayed." And now Brian was on his way to the door when Selena slipped out the sentence: "I can do the job with you guys. I want to know what it's like for the outsiders. Please?" Brian stopped short on his way and turned to look at Selena. His look was mixed with confusion, empathy, dark and mysterious all at the same time. Selena could feel the eerie silence build up with every breath he took. At last he said: "I don't think so, buttercup." Brian had rarely called Selena that anymore. When she had first arrived at Little League Military, the first person she and her parents met there was Brian. He said instead of calling her Selena, he would call her buttercup because of her goldish highlights and how they met her dark brown hair. Selena tried to protest but before she could, he was out the door.
