The Man I Married

Chapter 1

"Is that all? Is this your a week preparation? This is nothing but a trash!" Gunar shouted and throw the papers in my face.

Everyone in the room got shocked.

"I-I'm s-sorry S-Sir." I said in tremble.

"Make sure you can present a better presentation tomorrow or else I make you eat those papers." he said to me in anger. "I'm paying you to work not to be useless here." he said again before he left the conference room.

I received everyone sympathy after he left. They already used in this scene. It's always ended this way. Gunar scold me to make me embarrassed in front of my subordinates.

"Are you okey Manager Cullen?"

I tried to smile. "Yes, I am. Maybe the CEO just had a bad day today."

"What gotten to the CEO? He's getting worst." my assistant said while patting my shoulder.

"What happened a while ago, let just keep this into this room. Don't spread it outside." I said ordering. "And I'm sorry, our work was been rejected."

"Don't mind it Sir. Let's just fix it before the CEO throw us outside this building."

"Okey. Again, I apologize to everyone." I said and went back to my office to revise the presentation.

In one year of working in this company. I don't remember I ever pleased the CEO. Its always a rejection. I think of quiting sometimes, but I know I can't.

It's already midnight when I got home. I'm so tired and hungry. I laid my head on the sofa, to relax a little bit before taking shower. I'm about to close my eyes when I notice the messy floor. I blink for a second, just to make sure to what I seen. Someone clothes are in the floor. I rise and picked it up. It's a woman clothes. I look up the stair and quickly runned up.

I entered a room without any hesitation. I saw two person laying naked in the bed. Gunar with a woman in bed. Suddenly felt my knees become jelly to what I saw. I never thought I will caught him with my own two eyes.

In the past year, I let myself endure all the mistreated I received from him. I let myself become an helper, a anger receiver and a work machine for Gunar Hayes, the CEO of Hayes Beverage Inc.

Yes, I was secretly married to him for a year now, I become the collateral for my father's debt. And I hated my father for agreeing to it. For them I'm just a useless creature. A man can't decide alone, I have no right to object and a man that can't show his true feelings.

I know Gunar have this habit of collecting women everywhere. He never once considered me as his husband from the start.

"What the fuck are doing there? Are you sneaking to watch us? Or maybe you want to join us here in bed." Gunar unbothered asked me while a smirk painted in his face.

I was stunned in my place for a moment before his word registered to me.

After a while, I bravely look at him straight. "I just want to see what an unfaithful husband do?" I said. My voice bit tremble while saying that, but I managed to deliver the words without any tears.

Suddenly I felt tired and realized, I had enough.
