Hayley's POV:

Elijah was pretty rattled by his ordeal. His memory was foggy for the first few days but as time passed, it seemed like it returned to normal. I can tell that it affected him.

Random attack with no answers?

I'd be pissed.

I scoop Hope up into my arms. She giggles and I laugh along with her as I spin her around. She's quite something for a nine year old. Compassionate, curious, funny and sweet.

"Hey Mom check this out!" She says

She closes her eyes and concentrates.

I watch as a flower grows in front of my eyes from a seedling with little green stems to a closed bud into a hot pink flower with large petals in a matter of seconds.

"Nice job kiddo!" I say and give her a high five

She beams.

"Beautifully done sweetheart." Klaus says

Hope runs over and gives her dad a hug.

"Why don't you go spend some time with Lorelei for a bit?" Klaus suggests

We both watch as Hope takes off before Klaus turns to me with a more serious expression.

"How is he?" He asks

I sigh.

"He's having a hard time. I wish we had answers for him." I say

Suddenly Freya walks into the room with us. We all move into the study and Freya soundproofs the room with a quick spell.

"I found Miles." She says

"That's great." I say

"Give me five seconds in the room with him and I'll make sure that-"

"He's dead."
