Freya's POV:

Vincent and I are in the study when Hayley, Lorelei and Klaus walk in. They all look exhausted and annoyed. I know what they're going to say before they even speak.

No.

While they went out and continued to scour the city Vincent and I were trying to find answers in a different direction: through the dead. It was a long and draining process and we hadn't had luck with locator spells so we decided this was our best shot. We worked on reaching out to the spirits buried in Lafayette cemetery and after a dozen or so, nothing.

"Why is it taking people in the first place? Food? Power?" Vincent asks thinking aloud

"We don't even know what it is." I point out

Cameras don't pick it up and since the only people who have ever seen it are the ones who vanish, it doesn't really leave us much to go on.

"We actually do know what it is." A voice says

I turn to see Davina standing in the doorway. I'm surprised to see her as is Vincent. She'd been living with Kol out of the city for awhile so we didn't see her too often. She has a look of worry on her face and she's pale.

"Someone escaped from the cemetery."

"What do you mean 'escaped'?" Klaus demands

"The tombstone exploded. Whoever was buried there is now walking with the living." Davina tells us

"How did we not notice this sooner?" Vincent asks

"Simple concealment spell." Davina answers

"Any idea who it was?" I ask

"Someone named 'Fraser' I think."

Klaus had been sitting lost in thought but snaps out of his trance at this.

"Shawn Fraser?" He asks

"Yeah. Why did you know him?" Davina asks half joking

"I ought to. I killed him."

Klaus tells us the story of Shawn Fraser.

They'd met in this city back in the 1800's. Shawn was a part of the strongest witch coven in New Orleans. He was a boy when the Mikaelsons first made port in the docks. As he grew up and the Mikaelsons became a ruler of the city, Shawn had been exhiled from his coven due to abuse of power.

A handful of vampires disappeared back then and Klaus crossed paths with Shawn. He learned of Shawn's desire for power. He tried to use it to his advantage, to use Shawn as a weapon against his enemies and instead, it backfired tragically. Shawn went insane due to the black magic spells he was using and Klaus had no choice but to kill him.

"Now he's back." I say

"And probably looking for revenge." Hayley replies

"I would be." Davina says

Great.

"Guess it's time to come up with a plan." Lorelei states

"I'll call Rebekah. See if Hope can stay a bit longer. Just until this is handled." Hayley says to Klaus and heads out of the room

I stare at the map in front of me.
