The school-

When my mum left the nerves began to kick in

When my mum left the nerves began to kick in. I pull my tote bag back up onto my shoulder and walk up the stairs to the school. I look around not knowing where to go but I find a que of people lining up on the far left. The school was huge, I mean, I've only just entered but i can already get lost. The walls and ceilings were high and in the centre hung a grand chandelier. I line up in the queue and wait. The line passed by quiet fast and in no longer than 5 minutes I was next.

"what's your name" the receptionist asked in a posh voice.

"Bel- Isabella Hamilton miss" I respond. I can't screw this up already.

" Ah, Isabella here's your school pass" she says handing me my lanyard. "and just follow the signs over there until you've reached the grand hall".

I put the lanyard around my head, "thank you miss".

I turn around and find the sign leading to the grand hall. I walk forward through the hallways filling the huge crowd of students infront of me. We then take a left and go up some stairs.

'Jeez how much longer' I breathe out as I struggle going up these steep stairs. The school was quite old, quiet- I mean VERY old. It looked like something found in a history book (or Harry Potter). We finally reach the top of the stairs and continue down a hallway. I then shortly realise that this hallway leads to a bridge. As I cross the bridge I take in the immaculate views; perfect orange/ green trees, a large lake in the distance, and a small park nearby. The bridge ends and I starting down stairs. these stairs were spiral, 'fancy' I think to myself with a smirk.

When I reach the bottom of the stairs I try and look ahead but everyone was in the way. I go on my tiptoes and see that we are in a large room.

"Move along, move along students" I hear a woman say. "okay now from you" she says pointing at me, " I want all of you guys to sit at the far left. "and you" pointing to another crowd, "to sit on the far right". I hurry to claim a seat. When I get to an empty chair I drop my tote bag off of my shoulder before sitting down. I look around,

this must be the grand hall.

It was a tall room, honestly maybe even like 3 stories high, covered in old painting and statues. The room echoed the different conversations whilst everyone got to their seats. After 10 minutes everyone was sat. the school was not like a normal one, it was a private uni. Meaning that all the people here had to pay a shit ton of money to be here. Since it's a private school, it also means it's smaller, much smaller- maybe around 500 students.

As the noise begins to decrease a fairly tall woman goes up on stage infront of the microphone stand.

" good morning students. today is your first day at Tilwood University. We don't have any time for introductions so I will get straight into assigning the courses to classrooms." she then lists out some courses and more and more people leave the hall. Finally my course is named. I stand up picking up my bag from the ground and heading down to the front doors. I follow the assigned teacher along with 30 other students.
