The Beginning

"Welcome to Utopia a world where all things start equal" Hannibal woke stared at by the bright screen. He glanced around a world covered in green, vibrant colors panned across the landscape.  He glanced at the screen and as he did it changed. "Utopia is a world governed by no one and you have been brought with a chance for glory". Hannibal stared at the screen as reality sunk in. He woke up in an unknown place with no idea how he got there. He spoke softly " What did I do to deserve this I'm sleeping one moment and the next I'm here... Fuck". He glanced around again no people but in the distance a building towered around a mile away. He stared at the sky and cried as he got up slowly. 

Hannibal collected himself as he started walking to the towering building. As he walked he saw things he'd never seen. Whether it be an animal with 3 eyes a plant with a crest as it's stem or pairs of eyes that seemed to glow in the shadows of his surroundings. He stared at the screen that followed him as it flashed arrows towards the building. Out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of a shadow streaking through the trees. His heart started racing as it streaked again. He started running away from it as it broke through the tree line. 

A wolf like creature with 2 heads and a dark red mane 2 meters tall. It was fast, surprisingly so. It caught up in the flash of an eye it pounced as Hannibal kept sprinting. He threw himself to the left as the wolf like creatures maw barely missed. "Bullshit a fair world my ass" he shouted as he panted for breath and sprinted tears leaking from the corner of his eyes as he ran. "I swear whoever brought me here hates good looking people" the wolf seemed to agree as it pounced again. Hannibal this time however couldn't dodge. The wolfs teeth gouged out a chunk of flesh from his arm as he looked towards the tower like building that was a hundred yards away. Hannibal didn't look back and didn't acknowledge the pain in his arm as the wolf was coming back for more. He ran 10 yards then 20 as he grew closer so did the wolf. His legs suddenly quivered as he ran they gave and stiffened. He breathed out as he ran 20 yards in 1.5 seconds, he was only 60 yards away and had outpaced the wolf with his sudden burst of speed. The wolf adjusted and attempted to catch up. Hannibal was already within 10 feet of the building as he threw himself at the opening of the building. The wolf slammed into the wall as it was repelled by a seemingly invisible force. Both of its head shook and glanced at him as it retreated.

The screen now said something different as Hannibal glanced at it."1,561,390,246/24,061,371,248 after lupus senes appearance".It flashed again to a screen showing his picture and a statistic chart. A throbbing pain suddenly overcome him as he looked to his right arm, a grotesque image. He clenched his teeth as he looked around the building. It seemed ancient debris everywhere in the corner sat a chest. Hannibal glanced at it and grabbed it he popped it open with his left hand. Inside sat a bottle with some sort of liquid and a scroll. He grabbed both and observed them the screen suddenly shot out a beam of light that flashed over both of them. Information popped into Hannibal's head a recovery solution and an invisibility potion. He glanced at the so called recovery solution and figured it couldn't hurt and drank it. His arm burned as he screamed and steam rose from his body. Blood spurted out the wound until the muscles in his arm hooked across and his skin reconnected. Hannibal passed out from the pain and woke a second later from the cold floor. He panted and set aside the scroll and glanced at his arm not a scar or wound it was gone. He took a quick look to the screen with his image displayed. The screen shook red as it flashed "Imminent Warning; stay in the safe zone until update is complete". "What do they mean by update?" Hannibal wondered as he sat and looked around. Suddenly the world shook like it had been lifted. The ground moved back and forth like an earthquake. After 10 minutes the shaking ended. The screen turned back into a cyan blue as it now said "900,000,000mi^2->-> 200,000,000mi^2, 10,374,034 organisms lost in update. 1,551,016,212/24,061,371,248 left after stage 1" Hannibal looked at the numbers and understood. The place he was on must have been 900 million miles squared before and the update took away 700 million miles squared. This place was now around the size of earth. As for the counter he assumed it meant the amount of people left on this god forsaken place. He stared at the number and thought. "There are only around 8 billion humans on earth so where did the 24 billion come from also what was a lupus senes that thing that was outside? He then glanced at the left side of the counter as it now said around 1.5 billion remained meaning around 22.5 billion died." He pondered on what the 23 billion organisms could be about but was too occupied by his arm and though about what had happened to him so far. He looked over to his legs which had brought him 20 yards in 1.5 seconds 60 feet in 1.5 seconds he had ran 35 mph a speed 10 miles over the world record. He looked down with awe as he remembered his previous top speeds when he ran 18 mph. He looked back up at the window that went back to his picture and statistics.
