A blaring alarm clock shatters the peaceful dreaming that Jamie has indulged himself in. Groaning, his silences the alarm and begins his usual routine. Shave, shower, eat. Shaving goes fine. Nothing unusual. But after a nice, warm shower, as he grabs his towel and exits the tub, he slips and hits his head against the wall before slumping down. Trying not to curse up a storm out of courtesy for his neighbors next door, he winces and bites his tongue before slowly collecting himself.

And as he stands up and exits the tub, something rolls to fill in the space he once left behind. He pays the noise it no mind since it could have just been a bottle of soap or shampoo. But behind our hero's back, a shining light fades away.

Jamie dries off and dresses for the day. Being lucky (or unlucky) enough to take off time from work due to the circumstances he finds himself in, he has been tending to his home and spending time with his loved ones. Which, until last night, included his mother, girlfriend, brother and sister-in-law. Plus, his niece and nephew. But with Sheila ending their relationship because of his newfound forgetfulness, he's without any plans for the day.

His mother is at work, and so is his brother. And it'd just be awkward if he spent the day with his sister-in-law since the children are in summer school. So, he decides to take it slow until the afternoon. He sits in front of the television after preparing a light breakfast and turns on the local news.

A news bulletin flashes across the screen and a brunette woman is standing next to a very old and very distinguished man.

"I'm standing here at the gates to the New York State Summer Fair with Senator Robert Butler.", the reporter is struggling to balance her apathy and her professional tone as she speaks.

"Senator Butler will be here all day, meeting with constituents and will be giving a speech this evening. Is there anything you'd like to tell the audience, Senator Butler?", she turns to the man and places the microphone to his face.

"Hello, my wonderful constituents! It is going to be such a pleasure to meet with you all today! So, please, come down to the fairgrounds today and meet with me and my lovely family.", he gestures for the camera to pan over to two teen girls and a mature, yet still eye-catching, woman.

Jamie chuckles at the obviously uneasy reaction that the children made when the camera moved to show them. Before the reporter returns to the newsroom, he begins channel surfing before giving up on finding something to watch. He finishes his food in silence and goes to clean his mess.

After drying the last dish, Jamie places it in the cupboard and goes to collect his belongings. He was on the move, with a goal in mind for the day, he sets out.
