There I was. In my comfortable pastel colored bed. The alarm on my phone was going off reminding me to get up for school. I didn't bother getting up or hitting the snooze button because I knew it would turn off eventually and it did, but then it went off because Haru was texting me as usual. He liked texting me in the morning because he said it means I'm the first thin on his mind in the morning. I rolled up in the blankets that were much thinner than usual and kinda cold. I opened my eyes to see my room with flower pots here and there, Japanese symbols of happiness, love and harmony on my wall, and all my homework neatly sitting on my desk. I got up and ready doing my normal routine but I didn't need to, It was odd. I looked in the mirror on my vanity to see I was already dressed with my hair and makeup all done. I reached the door and opened it and found myself looking onto a cemetery instead of the hallway I was so used to. I was no longer in my room and it was no longer behind me.
I was mortified. There was my family and friends all gathered around a little white box. I found myself slowly moving towards them. The closer I came the more everything came into view. The white bex was a coffin and next to it was a picture of me. Haru was crying more than anyone but my mom was louder than him.
"I'm here! I'm here! Look at me I'm right here!!"
Then I heard both a feminine and male voice almost surround me. They were in an argument over something, I could only tell by the tone because their words were still a bit fuzzy. My vision was fading but their voices became more clear.
"She was my reqroute not yours!' yelled the girl.
"Well you weren't paying any attention to her! She was just floating off the side of the city."
I opened my eyes to see I was in a hospital bed. Gold eyes to my right and Kanato to my left. The two were fighting across the bed letting me hear every word of the dilemma.
"F*ck off @$$ wipe!" She said as she stormed off.
The boy looked down at me and sighed. "Good your awake."
I wanted to say something but it came out as more of an ugly groan. What a great first impression, or is it second now? either way it sucks!
He laughed a little, " Don't talk just yet." he smiled and continued, "I'm Rokune."
"A-...Aki J-..." I roughly croaked.
"Aki Navy June, I know its nice to meet you." He smiled a bit longer then it faded out.
Because I was in a state of croaking and silence I grabbed the nearest writing utensils and wrote out all I wanted to say. 'what happened?' I wrote.
"You fell and I ran into you and caught you" he replied and cut me off before i could finish writing Thank you with "Your Welcome."
Rokune was interesting. He seemed so nice yet he fought it off. He also had some sort of shady side, almost like he was hiding something and it was clearly seen in those golden eyes of his. Those eyes are gorgeous. I can't look away.
"Earth to June."
He said something didn't he, I couldn't tell, I'm lost in his eyes. WAIT! Am I staring?!
I wrote on the paper 'Ah I'm sorry' need an excuse need an excuse! OH! ' I haven't really adapted to the whole ghost thing so I couldn't help but stare. Sorry...'
"Don't worry, it's fine." He smiled for only a moment and it vanished just as before.
"Why?" I said with little trouble.
"Hmm? Why what?"
"Why did you smile disappear?"
The question seemed to bother him as he left the room almost immediately after. I was slightly distraught when he left as he was the closest thing to friend at this school. Then it hit me.
It's the first day of school.
