~Christmas day~

I opened my eyes just to see the cloudy Christmas sky. Wren next to me had already dressed up and woke me up in the middle of doing her makeup. It took me a few seconds to react even though I was totally awake.

"Hey" I sat back on the bed and saw the small wrappings that were lying on my bedside table.

"Hey, sleepy head" I smiled at the nickname. "Merry Christmas! I got a gift for you, you know? Also, some Slytherins are going down to Hogsmeade this evening, are you coming?"

"Like who?" I meant to say if Malfoy was coming.

"I don't know exactly, Y/n. Blaise asked me, so I guess he is coming, therefore, I guess Sofia is coming too and she'll bring her friends, the short one and the other one." She cut herself suddenly. "He probably is coming too, obviously. I'm sure he wants to see you there."

"Why would he want to see me, Wren? Just let it go, he's just Malfoy." I stood up and walked to my wardrobe to get dressed.

"I don't know but he came a couple of hours ago to give you that gift. I told him you were asleep. He looked way calmer when I said that. He left the gift to me and flew."

Malfoy wanted to give me a gift and apparently... was nervous about it? I wanted to open it so bad but I didn't want Wren to know what it was.

"I'm going to get changed. I'll be down in fifteen minutes."

"Okay. Bye." She closed the door and I ran to the table.

I immediately recognised his gift because it was in shining dark green. It had a black stamp with the initials 'D.M.', which only confirmed it was his gift. I opened it carefully. It was a box, a small and black box. A piece of paper fell from it when I opened the box. It read 'You don't have to wear it. I just wanted to let you know you remind me of them.' I looked inside the box and saw a silver bracelet with a big blue butterfly.

I obviously put it around my wrist, firstly, because it was a bracelet, and secondly, because it was a gift (from him).

The rest of the gifts were just candy, except Wren's, that was a very nice sweater, which I put on without a second doubt. I have to admit, I also sent everyone candy because that way I didn't have to think about something that could embarrass me and they might not like.

I wore some basic jeans with Wren's sweater and walked out of the common room to the Great hall. The sweater had an inscription that Wren had written. It was so cute, these were the kind of little things I lived for, and it was something she did very often.

Sophia had given me a book I had actually asked her for a few days ago. It was nice of her, and now I had a book to read during the holidays that wasn't from the library or for class.

While I had my head beneath the book, I saw Malfoy walking past in front of me. He looked at me. I shivered and looked away immediately.

Honestly, he hadn't exactly looked at me, he had looked at my wrist and mumbled under his breath 'filthy half-blood'.

I didn't care how nice it was that I reminded him of a butterfly, he was rude and he kept messing with me every day. I could never love someone who was like that. I wanted someone who respected me and didn't laugh at me in class or just because I'm not as much of a pureblood as he is.

I really hated Malfoy. But then again, I couldn't help staring at him as he walked away and out of the Great Hall. I couldn't take my eyes off him.

Wren took me out of my daydream and started talking about something else. She would be spending New Year's with her family. She wanted me to go with her but I couldn't. Even if we barely talked, I had to stay here, for Harry.

The Great Hall was already decorated with the enormous beautiful tree and some Christmas lights. The ceiling poured snow that evaporated a few inches before touching our heads.

Wren and I walked our way to Hogsmeade. We had spent together the whole day talking about this and that and sadly, had to cut it out when we entered the cafe.

Malfoy was there.

I had fun for awhile but then everybody just left. I stayed there, waiting for Malfoy to leave too. I noticed him walking towards him just to realise we were the only ones left.

Snow fell outside the window from the dark sky, as I wondered what Harry would be doing right now, he'd probably—

He grabbed my hand. "You're wearing it."

"Obviously, it's a gift."

He stared into my eyes for what felt like forever.

"Come. I wanna show you something."

I followed him without further complaint. He lead me back to the castle and made me walk basically every single set of stairs in it.

"Are we ever gonna get somewhere?"

"Shut up. We're almost there." He pulled my hand the last few steps and then let it go.

I looked around and saw the whole castle from above. I was all white from the snow and I could see owls flying around. The snow was still falling, too, and there was... Silence.

"Wow," I said in awe.

Malfoy walked over to a wall and I followed him. We sat down.

"Do you like it?" I nodded. "It's the Astronomy Tower. Don't tell anyone about this because I come here when I want to be alone. I don't want half the common room coming up here and being loud and annoying."

"Okay, but why did you bring me if you wanted to be alone?"

"Because," He sighed. "I want to be alone with you. Being alone with you is nice. Even though, you're Potter's sister and you're dreadful and you always do well in class but you can't even open a water bottle."

We stayed in silence for awhile after that, for hours, as it turned out. When he told me that we should be leaving, it had already been five hours.

He ran down the stairs and I couldn't catch up with him.

He didn't even say goodbye. But he showed me his place, the place he liked going, and that was enough.

I walked back to the common room singing some idiotic song I had heard in the cafe that morning and fell asleep as soon as I laid down on the bed.
