Aria Blackwood - Shadowhunter 8

Name: Aria Blackwood

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Aria has long, chestnut-brown hair that ends at about the middle of her rib cage. It has natural highlights, and she prefers to tame her hair into a high ponytail. She has wide brown eyes and slightly tanned skin. She's 5'8" and is quite slim and petite, almost fragile looking. But don't let that fool you - she's quite strong and can easily hold her own.

Personality: Aria is a sweetheart. She is fiercely protective of her friends, and will do anything to protect them. She's funny and flirty, and gets along with just about anybody. But if you make her hate you - then damn, you're going to be in for one hell of a ride. And not in a good way.

Weapon of Choice: Katana, given to her by one of her closest friends, a Japanese Shadowhunter named Mai. Fits her perfectly because it's light and flexible, but deadly.

Background: Aria has been constantly told her entire life by her parents that she has never been good enough; that she'll never succeed; that she'll never make a name for herself. She's been bullied a lot through highschool. But she wants to prove everyone that's ever said a mean word to her wrong.

Maybe that's why she has always been drawn to the more 'rebellious' crowd - she just seemed to fit in easier. She felt like they understood her. So, when it's revealed to her on her 15th birthday that her best friends are Shadowhunters, she knows that she has found her path to greatness. So she trained. She became stronger, faster, deadlier. Mixed martial arts and close range combat (which includes fighting with her katana) are her specialities. Her friends trained her to be the highly skilled fighter that she is today.

Why Your Character Wants to Ascend: As mentioned above, Aria wants to become a Shadowhunter because she wants to prove her parents and her high school bullies wrong - she can be great, she can be someone, she can make a difference.
