Y/N POV:

As I'm walking back from the greenhouses with Enid, after a lesson with Miss Thornhill, we hear an announcement on the school speakers.

"May Enid Sinclair and Y/N Y/LN please come to my office?" Says Principal Weems as her voice blares from the speakers.

Me and Enid quickly give each other a look, and we start to briskly walk to Principal Weems' office. Everyone in the courtyard turns their heads to look at us as we rush past, wondering why we were called to the principal's office.

"What do you think this is about?" I ask Enid, just as we enter the main school building.

"I honestly have no idea," She says. "I mean we haven't done anything that would get us in trouble," She pauses, "Have we?"

"No, I don't think so, or well at least not anything that would get us both called to Weems office."

She just nods and gives a light hum in response, seemingly becoming more panicked the closer we get to Weems office. As we turn around a corner to enter the corridor leading to the office, I quickly stop her by grabbing her shoulder. She has become physically anxious from not knowing what's going on. I silently pull her into a short, tight hug, which seems to relax her slightly. Then we continue down the corridor, and stop outside the door to the office. I hesitate slightly before knocking. Weems seems to instantly know it's us and simply calls for us to 'come in'.

I open the door slowly and me and Enid walk inside. As we enter we're met with four pairs of eyes staring back at us. It's Weems, and three other people I haven't seen before, two smiling adults, watching us, and someone I'm guessing is their daughter. She has raven hair in two braids, with a messy fringe. Her eyes are dark, and cold, holding my gaze, unblinkingly. Her colour palette is fully black and white, like an old cartoon character. I finally break our eye contact to focus on Weems as she begins to speak.

"Y/N, Enid, lovely to see you both," she says. "This is Nevermore's newest student, Wednesday Addams," She says, gesturing to the gloomy girl.

"Wednesday?" I raise an eyebrow, smirking slightly. "Like the day of the week?"

"Yes," her mother says, with a Cheshire cat grin "Her name comes from a line in my favourite nursery rhyme, 'Wednesday's child is full of woe'."

"Oh," I try to contain the growing smirk on my face. "How lovely, I'm guessing she was born on a Wednesday then?" I ask her mum.

"I was born on Friday the 13th." Wednesday says, in a matter of fact tone.

I snap my head around to look at her again. Her voice is fairly snappy and quiet, but carries across the room effortlessly.

"Yeah, that adds up."

I turn my head away as I mask my laugh with a cough.

When I turn back around, her eyes are still locked on me, with the same dark expression on her face, unmoved. Weems clears her throat, and we all turn back to focus our attention on her again.

"So, as I was saying," She starts, shooting me a look. "You two will be showing Miss Addams around the school and helping her settle in." She says to me and Enid. "I recommend you get well acquainted with one another as Wednesday will be moving into your dorm, since you have the only room in Ophelia Hall that will fit three people, and every other dorm is full."

"Ooh, new roomie, yay!" says Enid.

She looks at me with pure excitement, thrilled with the thought of Wednesday moving into our dorm in Ophelia Hall. I return a grimace, masked as a small smile.
