(This is an original story written by my partner, all of these characters are OCs!)

“Another day?” Riptide asks from the door.
“Another headache,” Tsunamii replied, muffled by the table to their face. It was normal for the two to do this on school days.
“Good luck to both of you,” Banshi said to the siblings from where he was in the kitchen.
“I wish it was still summer,” Tsunamii said, lifting their head from the table.
“Don’t we all?” Riptide said rhetorically, grabbing her bag.
“Oh shush, be glad you two are still in middle school. High school and college are much worse,” Banshi rolled his eyes.
“Whatever! Come on, short stuff!” Riptide yelled before she dashed out the door.
“Oh shush!” Tsunamii quickly yelled a “Goodbye” to Banshi before running after their  sister to the bus stop.
The bus stop was just them and 2 other kids. Though those kids were high schoolers. Tsunamii often wanted to ask them if high school was really that bad but then again they were just too shy too, and they were sure they would get a lecture if they did. The park wasn’t that bad, it had a playground but it was old and could probably break at any moment. The rust on the swings made it look like a tree was painted over it. The moss on the play structure and slides didn’t help either. It was overall dangerous, Tsunamii nearly broke their jaw a couple of times already.
As soon as the bus was there, Tsunamii was ready to lean their head on the window and fall asleep, though they knew that would be impossible. Riptide sat next to the window anyways, so if Tsunamii wanted to (and they felt like they would,) they could fall asleep on her shoulder. Though they doubt that would be likely with how much Riptide messes with them.
They finally got to the school at 8:15, and their school started at 8:30. Tsunamii felt like they were about to pass out. Eventually they saw the people who they usually go over to, so they trudged their shoes along the cement to get to them.
“Cya on the bus, short stuff!” Riptide yelled over their shoulder.
“Yeah, bye,” Tsuanmii wondered how she had so much energy in the mornings.
It was like Riptide hopped out of bed and she was fully charged or something. It sometimes annoys Tsunamii, why couldn’t they be like that?!
“Hey, short wave!” Someone yelled behind Tsunamii.
Tsunamii knew it was Genn, because that rough voice wouldn’t belong to anyone else but him.
“Hi.. Genn,” Tsunamii turned around to be met with a slap on the back.
“Rough morning?” Genn asked, eyeing Tsunamii’s eye bags under their red eyes.
“Stayed up all night, doing work and helping Riptide study for her test,” Tsunamii rubbed their eyes to try to get the tiredness to go away after only getting 2 hours of sleep.
Genn nodded and pushed them toward the rest of the group.
“Hey guys!” Genn yelled out, a bit too close to Tsunamii’s ear for comfort.
Tsunamii winced at the loud noise. Before they were taken in by their real parents again, they were in a foster home, and that involved a lot of yelling about them being a “freak” or whatever. Needless to say, yelling was not something Tsunamii was comfortable with, but Genn let go of them and ran to the rest of the group, not even bothering to notice them flinching at the loud noise in their ear that left it ringing with panic.
“Oh boy.. They’re here,” Beau says, not even trying to whisper to the red head beside her, Aniv.
Tsunamii stays silent as they know that she’s talking about them by the way Beau looks at them with disgust written all over her face. The rest of the group’s faces twist in a way that shows disgust, annoyance, anger and overall jealousy. They didn’t understand the jealousy part.
Soon enough the bell rang and people flooded the door.
Wish I was with Riptide right now.. Tsunamii thought before getting swept up in the crowd that would have trampled over them without a bat of an eye.
When Tsunamii actually got into the school, it was worse than before. People glanced at them and then whispered to his or her friend or friend group. Tsunamii never knew why this happened, it just always did. Then they saw something weird: A tall ginger standing there struggling to get his locker open. Everyone knew how to get their locker open at this point, it was halfway into the year!
“Do.. you need help?” Tsunamii didn’t realize they were by the tall male until they were by his locker.
The male looked at them with soft sky blue eyes, and softly smiled.
“It would help a lot thanks,” He said while looking at all the people in the hallway.
“Alright,” Tsunamii asked his code and then spun it into the lock with ease, since they knew the lockers by heart at this point.
“New?” Tsunamii asked as the ginger quickly put his stuff into the locker.
“Yeah, just toured the school yesterday,” He replied before looking at them again.
“Tsunamii,” They held out their hand.
“Thunder.” He gently shook their hand, before quickly letting go.
After school time skip (this story will be ten pages long if I don’t)
“Fun day?” Riptide asked jokingly when Tsunamii sat down next to them in the 2nd row.
“Haha, no,” Tsunamii replied before resting their head on the seat in front of them, “How was your test?”
“Went well, very boring afterwards though,” Riptide turned to look at them and smiled, “Thanks for helping me study by the way.”
“You’re welcome, although I almost fell asleep in English because of it,” Tsunamii siad, lifting their head to lay on Riptide’s shoulder.
“Oh god, well, anything happen today that was interesting?” Riptide looked at them with the ‘actually interesting’ look in her eyes.
“Yeah, I met a new kid named Thunder. He was struggling with his locker and I just happened to come by there,” Tsunamii replied without looking away from the black seat in front of them.
“I met someone new as well. She said her name was Avi,” Riptide held onto them as the bus lurched forward to indicate they were starting to move.
“Interesting,” Tsunamii replied.
“Yeah,” Riptide said before Tsunamii fell asleep on her shoulder.
